I must say, the personnel at this establishment are rather dreadful! They unjustly expelled my friends and me, despite the fact that we had a grown-up accompanying us and signed in after hours. The individual pictured here is the one responsible for our unwarranted removal. On our initial visit, she rudely showed us the door without cause. I would advise against obtaining a membership here; the service and staff leave much to be desired. The manager's name is Kenazia. She resorted to foul language and insults towards myself and my companions.

**Attention Alert** - The way they explain the payment terms can be confusing and unclear. They may not inform you when your contract ends, and continue charging you even though you assumed your membership was over. It’s crucial to carefully read the fine print - by agreeing, you are waiving your right to make any claims, even in cases of negligence by the gym or its staff. Even with a doctor’s note stating you have physical limitations, they will keep billing you until your contract expires unless the documentation specifies total exercise abstention. Once you’ve signed on the dotted line and left the premises, they won’t show much concern. It’s akin to dealing with dodgy used car salesmen. Despite that... the facilities are decent, and they do adhere to the advertised services and schedules, but customer care and locker room hygiene could improve. If you have the budget and are fine with commitment... enjoy. However, if you have doubts about your happiness there, financial concerns, or foresee potential changes... don’t let them push you into signing that agreement or payment plan. I wish I had paid more attention.

It is quite pricey, and they do not have any mid-tier options available. I underwent surgery following an injury caused by a staff member, which prevented me from utilizing the gym facilities, yet they insisted on charging me for my membership rather than placing it on hold.
James Clark (6/1/25, 12:06 PM):
Absolutely dreadful customer service. I couldn't even extract a straightforward answer when all I wanted to enquire about was the pricing of memberships. Just provide me with the pricing details for each level without bombarding me with unnecessary questions. Let's keep it professional, shall we?
Joan Howard (6/1/25, 7:57 AM):
This gym really needs to up their customer service game. The ladies in the women's locker room have a terrible attitude, and the manager is the epitome of a Karen. I've never experienced such poor customer service in my life. It's absurd that people have to deal with that snarky behavior considering the price they pay. If they're trying to keep membership numbers low with their treatment of people, they're succeeding.
Sharon Ward (6/1/25, 5:12 AM):
I absolutely adored visiting the Alaska Club East. The Front Desk Staff are consistently so welcoming! It was my initial experience acquiring a gym membership with this particular gym, and each time I had inquiries, the membership accounting team always had the precise answers I required. However, I do urge individuals to thoroughly peruse the fine print prior to signing any documents.
David Martinez (5/28/25, 10:43 PM):
The gym has recently undergone renovations, so many of the older reviews mentioning it being run down are no longer relevant. The interior now looks very appealing. While I'm not a fan of spending a lot on a membership, I do appreciate the wide range of classes and flexible scheduling. Additionally, the childcare facilities at this gym surpass any others in the area. The play equipment at all Alaska Clubs is top-notch with ball pits, slides, tumble mats, toys, and crafts. My child absolutely loves spending time there, playing with other kids in a warm and inviting environment. This excellent childcare service certainly makes my gym visits much more manageable.

UPDATE Sept. 7: I've been a member at this gym for the past 2 years now, and I must say, I really enjoy the facilities. Anthony and I had a little disagreement on this particular day, but it certainly didn't deter me from continuing to frequent the gym. In fact, I've had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful staff members since then.

While I have always held a fondness for this establishment, I must express my frustration with their customer service recently. It's truly at an all-time low.

During a visit where I simply wanted to purchase a day pass without committing to a full membership, Anthony from the Alaska Club East location asked me to leave. As a long-standing member, I was appalled by this treatment. It seems they are only interested in catering to the wealthy clientele and have little regard for other individuals. I was shocked to be informed that this is a "members only club," despite there being an option for non-members to pay a daily fee. I take pride in being a contributing member of this community...

It's clear to me that this gym is financially successful, so perhaps they should consider investing more in their staff training and compensation to ensure a more positive interaction with the community. It's time to step down from your pedestal and focus on fostering a supportive relationship with the local residents. I hope my feedback is taken into consideration. Thank you for your attention.
Ethan Ortiz (5/26/25, 2:33 PM):
I must say, I have some thoughts on The Alaska Club East.

As a seasoned member of The Alaska Club East, I can't help but feel a tad let down. The price one pays would lead you to believe you are in for a well-kept and pristine establishment, however, this is not the case. The changing rooms are often unkempt, and it appears the hot tub, sauna, and steam room are more often out of service than operational. It is quite vexing to pay for services that are seldom accessible.

The gym itself can be quite overcrowded, especially during peak hours. It can be quite the challenge to locate an available machine or area to exercise without encroaching on someone else's space. The pool premises are equally subpar—it tends to be bustling, and the cleanliness of the water can be questionable at times.

Furthermore, the standard of customer service leaves something to be desired. The staff does not appear overly invested in assisting members, and the process of canceling a membership proves to be far more challenging than necessary. I've heard numerous complaints from individuals who continue to be charged post-attempted cancellations.

In essence, The Alaska Club East harbors promise, but unless they enhance their maintenance, customer service, and hygiene protocols, my endorsement remains withheld. The steep membership fees are simply not justified.
