Accessibility and Comfort

One of the standout features of Gym City Sports Club is its commitment to accessibility. The gym boasts wheelchair-accessible entrances and a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring that all members can enjoy their workouts comfortably. This commitment to inclusion is reflected in the positive feedback from some users who appreciate the welcoming environment, especially when receiving assistance from dedicated staff like Russel, who went out of his way to give a tour even on his day off.

Amenities Galore

Members can take advantage of the swimming pool and basketball court, which provide opportunities for both cardio and recreational activities. Many reviews praise the pool's cleanliness, although concerns have been raised about maintenance in this area. Planning Your Visit

When planning your visit, it's worth noting that a membership is required to access the full array of facilities. While the gym was previously lauded for its friendly atmosphere, some recent reviews reflect frustrations regarding customer service and cleanliness, particularly in the locker room areas. Ensuring a clean and safe environment is crucial, and patrons have expressed a desire for more consistent upkeep following the pandemic.

Staff Professionalism

While many members have experienced helpful and kind interactions with staff, such as receiving tours and assistance, there have also been notable instances of unprofessional behavior reported by others. A balance of great service and concerning management practices seems to shape member experiences. As described in several reviews, the inconsistency in staff professionalism can impact overall satisfaction, making it essential for management to address these issues actively.

Member Experiences

The experiences shared by members highlight a spectrum of feelings towards Gym City Sports Club. Some individuals cherish the well-equipped space and personal attention received, while others express disappointment in various aspects including customer service and facility maintenance. For those considering membership, taking the time to visit the gym and engage with staff might help gauge whether it meets personal fitness goals. In summary, Gym City Sports Club in Concord, CA presents a variety of amenities and accessible features designed to cater to fitness enthusiasts. Lovely gym and friendly staff, however, post canceling our membership amid COVID, they are still charging our credit card. It has been quite the ordeal to figure out how to obtain a refund and cease the charges, so do be cautious.
Margaret Scott (5/16/25, 12:44 PM):
Oh dear, what a dreadful experience you had at the front desk! I typically visit City Sports in Vallejo using my buddy's guest pass, but when I tried the one in Concord, a chap named J.T abruptly informed me that I couldn't enter as a guest. He then proceeded to push me to sign up for a membership, clearly just looking to earn a commission from me. I'm not one to usually leave reviews, but this truly was an awful encounter.
Christine Sanders (5/14/25, 3:39 PM):
Heads up! For those of you with Kaiser, make sure to sign up through them for Active & Fit. The cost is just $25 per month and you'll have access to a variety of gyms, not just limited to City Sports. If you need to cancel, it's a breeze and you won't have to deal with ongoing charges. I've heard many complaints about being billed even after canceling, so if you're a Kaiser member, definitely go through them to avoid any hassle!
Maria Reyes (5/12/25, 2:27 PM):
The gym was really lovely and Marquis was ever so helpful!
Nicole Reyes (5/12/25, 2:36 AM):
When signing up online, please BEWARE of the "annual fee" that this gym charges on top of the monthly fee. What kind of business operates with such a shady business model? This is not a gym that prioritizes efficiency. When I attempted to cancel my membership, they were incredibly uncooperative. I found it impossible to cancel over the phone, through the app, or even while working out in the mornings. I was forced to wait for their manager, who didn't show up until 9 and seemed quite lazy. While the equipment is new, it is made of low-end plastic. There is only one full basketball court, which is constantly being used for lessons by some random guy every morning, causing constant disruptions for other players trying to use the court. The list of complaints could go on and on, but I have had enough of this joke of a "business."
Amanda Myers (5/12/25, 2:14 AM):
I absolutely adore this gym, undeniably the finest gym in the locality. A fantastic price for a lovely pristine swimming pool. Just $34.99 per month. It's impossible to find a better deal elsewhere with a swimming pool. The Ymca will set you back $52, and their pool is always teeming with elder individuals; their facilities are constantly packed. Anytime Fitness is minuscule, and their workout area is akin to a bathroom.

I can only sing praises for Cityclub Sports Gym. This gym is spacious, never overcrowded, exceptionally clean, the staff is exceedingly hospitable, the classes are extraordinary, and the aerobics room is quite sizable. Overall, I am exceedingly impressed with this gym.

"You must vacate the premises"

I acquired a VIP guest pass from an active member and visited this establishment on June 20th. Upon arrival at 9pm, the individual on duty provided me with exceptionally poor service. I was informed that the pass needed to be activated before use. Understandably, this process may have required some time and explanation. I inquired if there was a way for me to enter using the pass to avoid wasting my 30-minute commute. However, the staff member displayed no patience, flexibility, or empathy. Instead, he quickly mentioned that their sales representative was not present and abruptly instructed me to "You need to get out of here." This embarrassing situation unfolded in front of other gym-goers, making me feel as though I had committed an error by attempting to utilize my guest pass. Despite driving 30 minutes to reach the gym, the interaction lasted less than 10 minutes. Throughout my brief visit, I maintained a respectful demeanor; nonetheless, all I received was the directive to vacate the premises.
Linda Cruz (5/6/25, 7:03 PM):
They never tell you about all the charges in advance, and you end up shelling out for various fees that don't even add up. What kind of business is this, sneaking in annual fees on top of monthly ones?

Meanwhile, the jacuzzi is always closed for maintenance, lol.
Noah Anderson (5/3/25, 11:34 AM):
They offered me a membership account for $25 per month and promised it would be ready the next day. When I called the following day, they informed me that it would not be available.
Nicole Anderson (4/28/25, 4:42 AM):
The staff here are absolutely brilliant, always with the widest grins. The machines are top-notch every day and cleanliness is impeccable. The sauna and pool areas are spotless daily. And the crowd is just wonderful, incredible people all around.
Adam Rogers (4/27/25, 11:07 AM):
"Quite spotless, equipment all brand spanking new and not a single dust bunny in sight. Overall, a splendid establishment."
Amelia Ross (4/25/25, 2:30 PM):
The bloody awful customer service, I tell you! I was with this instructor called Angel, who said I could pop in today for a free day pass, so I packed up all my gear and headed over. But when I got there, the General Manager in the most uncivil way informs me that the pass to visit the Gym wouldn't be activated until tomorrow. Honestly, if the customer service is this appalling, I dread to think of the services once you're actually a member. The instructors should provide accurate information from the get-go, and the managers ought to be a bit more pleasant and not waste your time. I strongly advise against going to this place.
Judith Butler (4/17/25, 8:08 PM):
I absolutely adore this spot. A genuinely stunning community where you can achieve all your fitness aspirations. It's truly a fitness Mecca.
Margaret Thompson (4/16/25, 6:37 PM):
Lovely gym. I particularly enjoy the pool and spa facilities.

The machines are simple to navigate, with some featuring instructional images. The staff is friendly, and they offer cool classes such as yoga.
Douglas Cox (4/16/25, 8:22 AM):
Fantastic team work happening here at this standard commercial gym. Impeccably clean, but can get quite bustling at times.
Jeremy Patterson (4/12/25, 8:19 PM):
It's not advisable to join because you may become stuck in a challenging-to-escape agreement. If you wish to terminate, sending an email or contacting your credit card company seems to be the best and perhaps only method I have discovered so far. The facilities are adequate, but in general, they are not worth the cost or the restrictive contract for my needs.

Service ⭐️ 1/5. When attempting to cancel, I was kept waiting the entire day for the manager who never showed up, or instructed to call a number that was unresponsive and did not return calls.

Personal training sessions and expertise ⭐️ 1/5. I would not suggest them, as their level of experience is not extensive, and the guidance provided could easily be obtained by socializing with gym buddies and doing online research.
Sarah Allen (4/11/25, 12:41 PM):
I do be goin' early in the mornin' before work, and at that hour it be peaceful and spotless, I quite fancy it.
Amber Hughes (4/9/25, 1:21 AM):
Top-notch gym, I must say, but we definitely require more parking spaces. Once Dave and Buster's launches, there will be a total dearth of available parking spots.
Harold Carter (4/8/25, 4:36 AM):
It's nearly impossible to cancel your membership, innit? I sent emails. I made phone calls. I even went down there meself. But still couldn't cancel and got charged! And it's not even a decent gym, I tell ya.
Kenneth Gonzales (4/6/25, 5:24 PM):
I absolutely adore this gym. It has all the amenities I require. The child-minding service is a bonus, and my daughter thoroughly enjoys her time there. Sofia is exceptional with the little ones.

The gym equipment is top-notch, and while the group fitness classes are good, they could benefit from more variety. The facilities are well-maintained, with clean bathrooms and excellent lockers. Additionally, the sauna and pool are a fantastic addition.

Overall, the membership fee is definitely worth the investment!
