Gym childcare is available Monday to Friday from 8 am to noon and 4 pm to 8 pm, and on Saturdays from 9 am to noon. It works perfectly!!!!

The gym is smashing, never too crowded when I pop in, the staff are ever so friendly, loads of parking spaces, and the members are jolly good.

I 'ave been takin' me niece and nephew 'ere for swim lessons. We are on week 2 and while the pool is lovely it is chaotic. As someone who was not at all familiar with the facility, there are no signs directin' you where to park, where to enter or where the pool is located.
Once inside there was no information on where the swim lessons were other than bein' told to go to the pool. The first week, I asked the teacher who was in the pool if I needed to check the kids in or how we get started. She didn't know 'ad to ask so we wasted their lesson time gettin' things sorted out. They 'ad set up tandem lessons for the kids rather than at the same time which was different from the email we 'ad received. Then week 2 of lessons they switched instructors on us with no notice only sayin' the other instructor wasn't there.
On the positive side, me niece loves workin' with Derek. The instructors 'ave tolerated me nephew's 'alf hour of screamin' and protestin'.

A most splendid gym with a most splendid staff! I have such an affection for this establishment! HOWEVER! I am perusing the website presently and it states that you are open until 8pm. See the image below. Yet, upon calling, the voicemail makes no mention of an early closure today! This has occurred on multiple occasions, individuals trekking across town only to arrive at locked doors. It is perfectly acceptable if you intend to close early, but kindly ensure this information is clearly displayed on your website and voicemail. It has reached a point where my family and I are uncertain of your early closing times without extensive investigation. While this is not a deal breaker by any means, please recognize the negative impact this has on individuals and their schedules. Here is a snapshot of the current information displayed on the site on 12/31/16 at 4:32pm. We do not mind if you are closed early, just make such details more easily accessible. WHAT A BRILLIANT SPOT TO HANG OUT!!
So I bumped into this fella Michael Thomas, who works over at the YMCA. Let me tell you, he's a proper gent! He sorted me out and answered all my queries about the gym and the rates. The YMCA is a top-notch gym, well-kept and of high quality. These folks really know how to look after their members. No sneaky charges, and the rates are just spot on for me and my siblings!
You lot have truly smashed it!

They have a top-notch outdoor pool and the staff are absolute darlings. Throughout the Covid situation, they have been diligent in enforcing safety measures, making it one of the most reassuring places to visit apart from my own abode. Pre-Covid, they offer an excellent selection of weight machines and several top-tier basketball courts.

The new layout at the gym is so odd. I'm not quite sure what prompted them to organize the free weights in these bizarre rows - it's really thrown me for a loop. Now, if one person is using the free weights, it blocks off access for everyone else in the gym. It's as if we all have to work out in a huddle now. The old layout was much more logical and made everything easily reachable.

On the December of 2023, I reached out to the YMCA at Pleasant Hill to inquire about their baby swimming classes. During our telephone conversation, they informed me that they possessed an indoor pool and that my spouse could take turns joining me in the pool even if he wasn't a member.
Armed with this information, in January 2024, I made the decision to join as a member and enroll my little one in the swimming program. Today marked the first class, and upon arrival, much to my surprise, I was informed that the classes were held in an outdoor pool and, due to my husband not being an active member, he would not be allowed in the pool.
This turn of events left me quite dismayed. However, upon expressing my concerns to what appeared to be the pool coordinator, she extended her apologies and offered us the option to either depart or stay for the lesson, with the possibility of discussing a refund with the manager. She assured me that we could deliberate on the matter after the session and took note of my contact details.
Given that we had journeyed a considerable distance, we opted to stay for the class. The session comprised two instructors and two other toddlers accompanied by their parents. Having prior experience with swimming lessons elsewhere, we were familiar with the routine. Nonetheless, it soon became evident that the instructors were ill-prepared, and one of the other parents shared our surprise regarding the outdoor setting.
After just 15 minutes of enduring the chilly conditions, all families concurred to withdraw their children from the water as they were visibly shivering.
Following our departure and change of attire, I sought out the coordinator once more. She relayed that she had conferred with the manager, who cited that since we had entered the pool (at her earlier suggestion), a refund would not be granted. Instead, they proposed offering us credit for the remaining lessons that could be utilized towards the membership—despite my prior indication that we did not reside in the area and had no intention of continuing with the program.
It strikes me as unlikely that this was the coordinator's inaugural day on the job, and it seems apparent that she was well-versed in the establishment's policies. By misleading us and manipulating the circumstances to lure us into the pool, knowing full well that it would preclude any possibility of a refund, she undoubtedly engendered a sense of deception. Had she been forthright from the outset, cautioning us against entering the pool to facilitate a refund, we could have avoided this predicament.
