I spent around an hour at this gym. Besides the trainers working with a group on the floor, I didn't see any employees making their rounds as I normally would at other local gyms. In the middle of my workout, I needed to grab a drink from my locker, but about 3 or 4 locks, including mine, had been cut off. Someone had rummaged through my bag and stole money. I informed a staff member who didn't seem surprised at all. I filed an incident report. I also talked to other members who frequent this gym often, and they mentioned that this kind of thing happens regularly here. If someone can walk in with bolt cutters and remove locks right under the staff's noses during a busy time of day, what's next?

Oi mate, so I popped into this Planet Fitness joint a few times 'cause I fancied a bit of a workout for a couple of weeks. It was tidy and the staff were dead helpful. Didn't quite manage to check out all the bells and whistles though. Looks like they could do with more parking spaces though. If you pop by during busy times, be prepared to hunt for a spot, yeah?
Walter Lewis (5/12/25, 10:23 AM):
Truly the finest gym membership I've ever experienced. The facility is consistently immaculate and well-maintained. The abundance of purple appeals to me since it's my favorite color, and the combination of purple and yellow creates a very welcoming atmosphere that uplifts your spirits. I haven't encountered any issues in the slightly over a month that I've been using their services. The staff are amiable and courteous. I wholeheartedly endorse this gym.
John Martinez (5/11/25, 7:37 AM):
The customer service at this gym is absolutely dreadful. I am a black member and when I bring my kids to the facility, no one bothers to ask for my ID to confirm they are under age. When I brought this up to one of the staff members, she simply said no, despite being a member for over 3 years. I had no choice but to cancel my membership due to such poor customer service.
Eric Lopez (5/11/25, 5:21 AM):
I popped into Planet Fitness this fine day and was greeted by two splendid staff members, Essi and Darius. They kindly walked me through all the ins and outs of the gym and how to maximize the app's potential. I shall certainly return, and I'll be sure to bring along my pal, Nancy. Cheers!

I ventured to this gym for the first time today. Despite having two closer Planet Fitness locations to me (Beltway Plaza Mall and The Mall at Prince George's), making the trip out here is absolutely worth it. The equipment is of a higher quality, the restrooms are spotless, it's open 24 hours, and it's not overly crowded.

ALERT! CRUCIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
Commencing on Sunday, 28th of July 2024 at 10pm, the Planet Fitness (PF) gym at White Oak on New Hampshire Ave in Silver Spring is set to CLOSE for substantial refurbishments.
The revamp might span from 1 to 3 months!
This means, do not even contemplate visiting that gym until the 26th of August 2024 (Monday) and the wait may prolong further.
I will update you when the delectably refurbished gym resumes operations.
Meanwhile, during the closure, basic members can avail themselves to any other PF gym.
Doris Baker (5/9/25, 3:42 PM):
The machines are clean and straightforward to use. It tends to get busy in the evenings, so I prefer coming at night. The hydro massage bed is my favorite, especially if you have the black card. The parking is good too.
Joyce Reynolds (5/9/25, 11:33 AM):
This gym may have potential, but it's turned into a bit of a rough spot due to an excess of unnecessary distractions from other gym-goers. It seems they've gone overboard with membership sales. If you're simply looking to pop in, hit your workout, and head out without any hassle, this isn't the spot for you.
Charles Cook (5/9/25, 4:53 AM):
This gym 'as been recently renovated and I'm so 'appy I didn't cancel my membership. It's a small gym, but I appreciate the workers who are constantly cleaning and 'elping to maintain the gym clean.
Daniel Henderson (5/6/25, 5:33 PM):
Fabulous customer service! The establishment is spotless and the equipment seems to be in tip-top shape. However, it tends to get terribly overcrowded during these trying times. There doesn't seem to be a sufficient amount of staff patrolling the area to guarantee that individuals are sanitizing the equipment after each use.
Juan Stewart (5/5/25, 6:03 AM):
The Staff is always lovely .... I absolutely adore this place.....the massage zones are splendid...I do wish they had private workout spaces though, you have to hunt for that. Also, the 30-minute workout zone is fantastic. However, I do wish someone would ensure adherence to the schedule. Folks hop on the machines and don't keep an eye on the clock.
Jesse Wright (5/5/25, 5:29 AM):
The staff is absolutely brilliant and the gym is spotlessly clean.
Noah Torres (5/1/25, 12:06 AM):
I dunno why Planet Fitness sometimes gets such a bad rap. They're dead cheap ($10/mo), no contracts, and got a massive space. The app is top-notch and even has a crowd meter so you can suss out how busy it is at certain times of the day. Sure, things get pretty hectic during peak hours, around 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., but that's the norm everywhere, innit? The beauty of it is they're open 24/7, so you could pop in at midnight if you fancy.
They also offer quick 30-minute classes, probably more suited for newbies, which is great for getting the hang of using equipment or getting back into fitness. The classes are small, max five people, and led by a personal trainer. You book all this via the app, brilliant stuff.
My only gripe with Planet Fitness is they don't have a clock on the wall! 😂
Steven Brown (4/27/25, 1:40 AM):
Will gave me a great service, very attentive, welcoming, and friendly. I am excited to start a new membership. The gym is clean and has everything I need. Super convenient with plenty of parking.
Alexander Young (4/26/25, 1:36 AM):
I 'ad to give one star to leave me review. This place deserves 0 stars. The equipment is outdated and old. 'alf of the machines are broken and the loo is disgustingly unsanitary.
Timothy Roberts (4/25/25, 6:14 PM):
I did fancy the gym, you see, but I only started going after the others had given up on their New Year's resolutions, so it wasn't too packed. But now, it's way too packed for me to even snag a changing room or shower after my workout. So, I went ahead and bought my own gear to get my exercise done at home.
Ann Lopez (4/22/25, 6:49 PM):
Janae is the absolute best. I misplaced my headphones and reached out to lost and found, she tracked them down and returned them. Incredibly friendly and an all-around fantastic gym.
Jonathan Kim (4/21/25, 9:46 PM):
The gym is always packed, parking is limited, it's an underground gym so there are no windows, ventilation is poor so it smells musty and stuffy. Some machines are incomplete - like the drink holder missing its base so it can't hold your water bottle. The restroom doesn't have paper towels which is frustrating. Overall, not very impressed. If you have the option, the Rockville location is far superior.
Lisa Jordan (4/21/25, 6:11 AM):
I popped over from Spunk across the street because my buddies were part of this gym. In comparison to Spunk, this place is bigger, with newer and better-maintained equipment, and a wider variety of machines. They even offered tanning and a sauna for their premium members, which was pretty neat (even though I wasn't one of them, just so you know). It's probably the better option when looking at $10/month gyms. They were a tad too keen on creating a certain "atmosphere" though... I wasn't looking to shout like a powerlifter, but making gains requires a bit of noise, you know? While Spunk follows the same idea, they are a bit more laid-back about it, which I appreciated.
