Tyler Diaz (3/29/25, 11:46 AM):
That fitness center is absolutely dreadful! They have very few options for cardio equipment. The classes are subpar and mostly led by older individuals. They charge fees for everything under the sun. I terminated my membership in February, only to find charges for March and April plus a maintenance fee of $39.99 on my bill. I was furious because no one informed me of these additional costs at the time of cancellation. And did the manager even attempt to resolve the situation? Absolutely not! I typically don't leave reviews, but in this scenario, I feel compelled to express my dissatisfaction. This establishment is truly abysmal!
Roger Robinson (3/29/25, 8:57 AM):
The establishment is deteriorating, with outdated equipment and questionable business practices. I have been a member for 7 years, and despite being assured that I wouldn't be charged during the COVID closures, I was still billed for a full year of fees while not using the facilities. When I tried to cancel due to moving, I was charged an extra month (30-day notice), which I understand. However, they then informed me that I would have to renew my yearly membership next month and hit me with another $78.98 - are you kidding me?
Proceed with caution if considering this rundown gym. It may be affordable, but the outdated equipment and black mold in the bathrooms make it questionable. On a positive note, the front desk staff are friendly and courteous, and I hope they find better employment opportunities elsewhere.
Never again!
Rebecca Green (3/27/25, 9:23 AM):
This gym is designed for individuals who are dedicated to their fitness routines. The equipment at the gym is extremely advanced and contemporary. They offer a range of barbells, including weights like 37.5 and 30.2 lbs, which sets them apart from many other gyms. The staff is friendly and always willing to assist.
John Garcia (3/24/25, 1:34 PM):
The gym itself is quite decent. However, the staff lacks helpfulness and friendliness.
Sharon Thomas (3/24/25, 8:53 AM):
Great spot, absolutely adore the steam room.
Sandra Smith (3/24/25, 12:16 AM):
As a newbie at Northeast Fitness Center, having been transferred from my previous gym, Brickwall, I can say that the new place is definitely an upgrade. The overall atmosphere at Northeast is quite pleasant, although it might not be saying much given my experience at Brickwall. I am starting to enjoy this new gym, but there are a couple of issues that bother me, though they may just be personal preferences. Firstly, the layout of the gym is very spacious, which can feel a bit too open for my liking, especially when it gets crowded. I've only visited twice so far, so perhaps I'll warm up to it. If you value some level of privacy (which is hard to come by in a gym), this might not be the ideal spot for you. On the upside, they have a wide range of equipment, with well-organized plates and machines that are in decent shape.
One thing that I do wish they would improve is their sanitation practices. Using paper towels for cleaning simply isn't cutting it. They don't retain the cleaning solution well and fall apart too easily. It would be much better if they provided facecloths, disposable rags, or even old ripped-up shirts for wiping down equipment. Anything other than the flimsy paper towels they currently offer would be greatly appreciated.
Kimberly Thomas (3/23/25, 6:34 PM):
My exercise assessment and plan were handcrafted with a magical touch using a marker on a sheet of paper. It mainly consisted of a lineup of workout equipment.
Eugene Sullivan (3/22/25, 10:23 PM):
Gets the job done. Wished it opened earlier on weekends.
Elizabeth Moore (3/22/25, 5:07 AM):
Although she appears to be skilled, Sarah, the manager of the Abington gym, lacks interpersonal skills. Unless you are purchasing her services as a trainer or are one of her friends, she may not show much interest. However, do not anticipate a personalized program tailored to your specific needs and abilities, as she believes in a one-size-fits-all approach. Moreover, if someone behaves inappropriately, she tends to overlook it - even if weights are repeatedly slammed on the floor or equipment is damaged. After all, it is not her money so why should she be concerned.
Emily Gonzales (3/21/25, 8:33 PM):
Great gym. Absolutely love the bikes.
Albert Gray (3/20/25, 11:11 AM):
I 'aven't been to the gym in 2 years since I moved from Abington. I've tried to cancel several times but they keep takin' money from me account. I've talked to the owner and the managers loads of times, even got email threads to prove it. It's gettin' more bothersome than any other gym I've dealt with. Every time I call, I just get the runaround as the owner never seems to be around these days. I can't fathom why it takes 2 years to cancel a membership for an expensive gym? I highly recommend W-Fitness instead. It's only 10 bucks a month and you can easily cancel through email. Cheers!
Juan Henderson (3/19/25, 5:11 PM):
Absolutely brilliant gym, always spotless and well-organized. The staff at the front desk provide top-notch customer service. Loads of state-of-the-art equipment too. Tremendous value for the monthly membership fee!
Chloe Clark (3/19/25, 7:26 AM):
Right, so I visited this gym, right. The equipment was decent but definitely a bit outdated, you know. And let me tell you, the prices were a bit on the steep side. And don't even get me started on the music they were playing, it was absolutely dreadful. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, mate.
Laura Thompson (3/17/25, 1:08 AM):
Best of luck attempting to cancel - great gym, but service could definitely improve
Justin Hayes (3/16/25, 4:25 AM):
Absolutely adore the fresh women's only exclusive fitness studio. Fantastic selection for that area. Equipped with all the gym essentials and the locker rooms are consistently well-maintained. The air conditioning was on full blast yesterday during the heatwave. Couldn't have asked for it to be any cooler than it was.
Rose Gomez (3/16/25, 4:03 AM):
The top fitness center in the South Shore, simply unrivaled. General Manager Elijah provides excellent customer service and maintains the gym impeccably. It truly stands out as the last of its kind, exuding a fantastic small-town atmosphere! This gym is so incredible that they even hosted a live band last night! Don't wait any longer, join now! 🏋️‍♂️
