Crisp Overview of Crunch Fitness - Addison in Addison, Texas

Welcome to Crunch Fitness in Addison, Texas, a gym that prides itself on offering a variety of fitness options while ensuring accessibility for all members. With a wheelchair-accessible car park and a wheelchair-accessible entrance, Crunch Fitness aims to create an inclusive environment.

Membership Experience

At Crunch Fitness, a membership is required to access the facilities. Many patrons express their satisfaction with the low monthly fees, often noting that it provides much value for the price. However, opinions vary significantly regarding service quality and equipment maintenance.

Planning Your Visit

For those planning to visit, it's essential to consider peak hours, typically between 5 PM to 8 PM, when the gym can become quite crowded. Members have reported that during these times, weighted equipment can feel uncomfortably close together. To enhance your experience, consider scheduling workouts during less busy periods.

Maintenance and Equipment Quality

While some members initially enjoyed the gym, many comments highlight a decline in equipment maintenance. Issues like broken treadmills and machines lacking proper repair have been frequently mentioned. Several members have questioned management about unresolved maintenance issues, indicating a need for better communication regarding repairs and customer service strategies.

Customer Service Concerns

The feedback on customer service at Crunch Fitness - Addison has been mixed. While some staff members are praised for their friendliness and attentiveness, others have been described as unhelpful, especially regarding membership cancellations. Members have faced challenges in canceling their memberships, often feeling ignored or misinformed about policies—a factor worth considering before signing up.

Conclusion

In summary, Crunch Fitness - Addison offers a competitive environment for those seeking affordability in a gym setting. With wheelchair access and a mix of enthusiastic and occasionally indifferent staff, this gym can cater to a diverse clientele. However, prospective members should weigh the equipment maintenance issues and customer service challenges against the low membership costs. It remains a decent choice for those who can navigate these uncertainties while enjoying their fitness journey.

This Crunch gym is really trying to squeeze more money out of us. If you fork over the extra cash every month to bring a guest along for workouts, they won't let you bring one at this specific Crunch location. It's ridiculous to have to pay an additional $10 just to bring a friend. I checked their policy on their website and couldn't find any mention of only being allowed to bring a guest to your home gym. If Peak members keep putting up with this, they'll never change their ways. We should definitely bring this issue up with Crunch's corporate office.

I've been a member at this Crunch for ova' a year now, and in the last few months, it seems like the management may 'ave changed because the maintenance 'as really gone downhill. The leg curl machine 'as been outta commission for over 3 months now. Now, even the leg extension machine is broken. 'Ere's like 10+ treadmills that are busted and unusable, some of the cable machines 'ave 'ad broken cables for months, and there's this flashy light in the studio that still ain't fixed. It's gettin' to the point where I can't do me full workout 'cause I 'ave to improvise due to all the broken equipment. The membership is affordable, yeah, but it's clear this is a management problem since it's only started becomin' an issue this year. I'm thinkin' about switchin' to a different gym, which is a shame 'cause I used to love Crunch, but me patience is wearin' thin with the poor management.

I also participate in the DivaDance classes that are 'eld in the studio at this Crunch, and it's been a constant struggle with the management and staff 'avin' no clue about DivaDance, the class schedules, etc... It's been a bit of a disappointment, even though we rent the studio from Crunch multiple times a week. At this point, it's lookin' like we might as well search for a new studio 'cause it's pretty clear we ain't valued or welcomed 'ere.

My daughter and I arrived at the gym this afternoon with a printed 1 Day pass ready to work out. Upon reaching the front desk, the young lady informed us that my daughter could not use the 1 Day pass due to a past membership she had many years ago. I expressed my disappointment and explained that I would not proceed with using my pass unless my daughter could also utilize hers. Despite my attempts to negotiate, the young lady adamantly refused.

I suggested that I might consider purchasing a membership if we were allowed to try out the gym first, but she still rejected our request. It was clear to me that she lacked proper customer service skills as she missed an opportunity to potentially gain two new memberships. This incident highlights the importance of providing adequate training to staff on how to handle such situations. In some cases, flexibility with the rules can lead to securing a sale. If it were possible, I would give a rating of 0 stars based on this experience.

This gym isn't following the mask rules at all. People are going in and out without masks on. Just a heads up if you go to this gym.
Juan Perry (5/25/25, 12:59 PM):
I absolutely adore the vibes at this gym, the staff is so friendly. However, recently a lot of the treadmills have been out of order and some of them are quite grubby. Overall though, it's a rather decent gym.
Daniel Myers (5/23/25, 5:19 AM):
Top-notch value, mate! My partner and I frequent this spot regularly, and let me tell you, the range of equipment, telly entertainment, and overall gym functionality is spot on. The only thing that could make it better would be a more seamless way to foster a sense of community here. Cheers!
Daniel Cox (5/21/25, 3:08 AM):
Aside from the lovely and thoughtful staff, this gym is an absolute disaster. There’s no waiting for machines because most are broken and barely functional. The atmosphere is dank and humid, with dirty floors and equipment that’s falling apart. Despite my daily workout routine, I was out of there in 15 minutes - I attempted cardio but every machine was either out of order or marked with red tape. I’d rather exercise in the parking lot than return to this place. For reference, I'm also a member at Crunch in Norman.
Timothy Williams (5/19/25, 11:53 PM):
I absolutely adore this gym! I'm quite particular about how a gym organizes its layout, and they excel at ensuring there's ample space between equipment, so everyone isn't crammed together while they exercise, haha. The facility is consistently spotless, and the staff are incredibly welcoming and accommodating. I wholeheartedly encourage individuals of varying fitness levels to make use of this gym :)
Susan Hamilton (5/18/25, 5:59 PM):
What a fantastic gym! The staff are so helpful and friendly, unlike those pushy salespeople you find at LA Fitness. It would be brilliant if they opened a Crunch in Irving!
Jerry Bennett (5/16/25, 5:49 PM):
Ever since I started going to this gym, I've absolutely loved it. Having previously trained in the Marine Corps where we had access to all kinds of weights and equipment, then transitioning to MMA training in Austin, finding a gym that offers bags, weights, TRX suspension gear, turf strip, tires, pull-up bars, and more for just 10 bucks a month is unbeatable. I find myself there 5 to 6 days a week without fail. Truly love this gym.
Karen Walker (5/16/25, 12:58 AM):
Crunch Fitness is a splendid gym if you are looking for a supportive community of fellow gym enthusiasts and knowledgeable trainers to assist you. The ambience is welcoming and conducive to a productive workout session. The gym boasts a diverse array of equipment catering to individuals with varying fitness preferences and goals.
Nicholas Bailey (5/12/25, 9:46 PM):
This establishment is a complete rip-off. Should you decide to terminate your membership, they will continue to deduct charges from your account repeatedly, without a care in the world for customer satisfaction. The previous proprietors were fraudulent, and the current ones are no better. I wish to clarify that this message is not borne out of spite towards the company, but rather a sincere caution to all prospective members considering cancellation.
Roy Sanders (5/11/25, 10:51 PM):
Oh, blimey! A proper mad situation occurred less than a fortnight ago when the bloke meant to open the gym left everyone waiting outside for hours because she "dozed off". And now, they go and announce they'll be open on New Year's Eve from 4:30 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon, but it's already 7 o'clock and the place is still shut tight. Absolute shambles, I tell ya!
Angela Morales (5/11/25, 7:41 PM):
I had an absolutely dreadful experience at this gym location. I phoned at 4:32 pm and spoke with a gentleman there, explaining that my membership originated in Longview but that I would be driving up to Ft Worth from there and planned to make a detour to the Addison gym, as long as I wouldn't have any trouble gaining entry. I was unsure if my membership would be valid at this location. He assured me everything would be fine. As I mentioned, I would be traveling from Longview. I arrived promptly at 7:00 to discover that they close at 7:00 on Sundays. There was no indication on Facebook that they closed at 7:00 on Sundays, and he didn't inform me either. Longview and Tyler have 24-hour gyms. So, I was essentially turned away... absolutely furious. I had to drive all the way to Ft Worth. The only reason I diverted to Addison was to work out. This is the most ludicrously unprofessional gym I have ever encountered. Longview and Tyler Crunch locations are perfectly fine. This particular location is just absolute rubbish.
Sarah Russell (5/9/25, 3:52 PM):
Incredible customer service experience. I encountered some issues with an overdue balance after transferring my account to a different location in Corpus Christi, where the transfer wasn't executed correctly, resulting in double charges. I had the pleasure of speaking with Juan, the General Manager, who provided exceptional assistance.

Juan took the time to thoroughly grasp the situation by asking insightful questions. Through his efforts, everything was efficiently resolved. While this gym is fantastic, I am awarding it 5 stars because the individuals managing it truly make the difference. Thank you, Juan! Crunch Fitness is fortunate to have you on their team.
Justin Gutierrez (5/6/25, 1:52 PM):
Just got meself me first gym membership 'ere and I 'ave no regrets about it, I tell ya. It's spotless and 'as all the gear I need for me workouts. Plus, everyone is dead friendly and willing to lend a hand if I need anythin'. Cheers!
Sean Patterson (5/5/25, 3:19 PM):
I'm currently paying $35 per month for my gym membership, which includes access to classes. However, two days ago, the gym staff reserved some equipment that I usually use for my classes and didn't allow me to use it, even though it remained unused for the following 30 minutes. I requested a refund immediately, but the manager informed me that he could terminate my membership without providing a refund. It's frustrating to be paying for a service but not being able to use the equipment I need. This gym seems to be going downhill, so I am considering finding another one with a wider variety of gym machines.

Update - I'm not sure if my previous review had any impact, but the gym staff are now more cautious about reserving equipment, especially if there are identical items available. The situation has improved, and I no longer believe it deserves a one-star rating. While there are still some issues with malfunctioning treadmills, I have started to enjoy going to this gym more. It's not bad at all.
Rachel Hamilton (5/1/25, 10:47 AM):
Crunch Fitness is a smashing gym. I’m a physique competitor who's always on the move and drops by various gyms nationwide, and I must say, this gym left me dead chuffed. It was spotless, with a splendid array of well-maintained equipment. I had a natter with a bloke named Neil, who was a real gem - down-to-earth and ever so helpful. Well worth popping in for a visit, I reckon!
Layla Reyes (4/29/25, 1:25 AM):
Crunch fitness is a brilliant gym! Wes and all the staff are incredibly helpful and professional. The gym is spotless with top-notch equipment.
Joe Russell (4/24/25, 3:34 AM):
Since the new management has taken over, the gym has been spotless and the equipment has been maintained excellently. The staff is always friendly and helpful every time I visit.
