Idaho Fitness Factory (IFF) Overland, located in Boise, Idaho, has quickly become a favorite among gym enthusiasts. This article explores the accessibility, planning, and amenities that make IFF a standout choice for fitness lovers.

Accessibility Features

One of the key aspects of Idaho Fitness Factory Overland is its commitment to accessibility. With a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, it ensures that all members can enjoy their workout experience without any barriers. This attention to inclusivity is especially important for those who may have mobility challenges.

Planning Your Visit

Being open 24/7, IFF Overland accommodates all schedules, allowing members to plan their workouts at their convenience. Whether you're an early riser or a night owl, this gym provides flexibility that is hard to beat. However, it's worth noting that peak hours can get quite busy, which might require some patience for those who prefer quieter times for their workouts.

Amenities That Enhance Your Experience

When it comes to amenities, IFF Overland does not disappoint. Members can take advantage of a sauna located within the bathroom facilities, providing a relaxing post-workout option. Many patrons have expressed their appreciation for the cleanliness and organization of the facility, making it a pleasant environment to exercise in. The gym features a variety of equipment, including both free weights and machines. While some users noted that the selection might feel limited for advanced lifters, it is more than adequate for beginners. The addition of tanning beds and red light therapy has also been well received, adding further value to the membership.

Membership Options

A membership is required to access IFF Overland, with rates starting at an affordable $20, making it one of the best deals in the valley. However, some members have suggested that greater access to amenities like the sauna might enhance the overall value of the basic membership.

The sense of community at IFF Overland is palpable. Many customers have applauded the friendly staff and the general atmosphere of the gym. Most patrons are described as cool and supportive, making it an inviting place for both newbies and seasoned gym-goers. Popped in to have a look-see. The spot is quite spruced up, and appears tidy and shipshape. They boast a diverse array of weightlifting gear and dumbbells. The crew was amiable and fielded my queries. I appreciate their round-the-clock operation, so folks can swing by anytime. They extended an offer for me to test out some of the machines, but I explained I was merely scoping out their setup and soaking in the vibes. They've got a lovely sauna as an added perk. Apologies, no snaps from within as it was bustling with folks, and I'm not one to disrupt a workout session.

Superb gym at an excellent value!

The Positive: The splendid new equipment is smashing, they've got a jolly good selection of machines and plenty of free weights. We actually drive an extra 5 minutes to go to this locale instead of our usual place. It's usually quite bustling around peak hours, but I've never had to queue for a machine or anything.

The Negative: It is EVER so WARM all the time. It truly feels like there is no airflow inside the premises. I reckon there's only about 5 fans on the ceiling total, and they are rather titchy. I don't know if it's the saunas in the loos causing extra humidity or whatnot, but some days we just opt not to visit this spot because we'd rather not be all hot and bothered whilst working out. I've never been to a gym as warm and stuffy as this one. Perhaps that might change when the weather gets chillier, but there's still no airflow or movement of air inside. I do hope they can sort this out because I adore this gym, but it's just so challenging at times.

All brand spanking new equipment. A hack squat and sled style leg press, an awesome cable machine, and dumbbells up to 125lbs. Each restroom even has a hot sauna, and the staff is super friendly. It would be even better with some 35lb plates and square foam pads like the other locations, but overall, if I lived closer, this would definitely be my main go-to gym.
Dylan Robinson (4/12/25, 4:57 PM):
Great spot to get your workout in. Not too many gym buffs around, just a few. It's usually peaceful and I can easily access the equipment I require. The facilities are tidy and the staff is welcoming.
Teresa Long (4/9/25, 7:04 AM):
Brilliant gym, absolutely top-notch!

I must say, there ain't nuthin' wrong with this gym if you're after a basic spot to do some liftin', especially if you're just startin' out. The staff are friendly, the bathroom and locker room are tidy, and there's even a sauna. However, the atmosphere can be a tad dull. Don't forget your headphones, as they seem intent on playing music that's more suited for an elevator. Ever been to a Fred Meyer and wondered why they're pumpin' out that particular tune? I reckon the person in charge of music selection at Fred Meyer is the same one pickin' the tunes at Idaho Fitness Factory.

Moreover, their range of weights and machines is somewhat limited. It suits a beginner just fine, but it won't satisfy someone lookin' for variety. There's no calf machine (seated or standin'), only seated hamstring curls (but not the good ones). The best seated hamstring curl machine is the Roc-It, which isolates the hamstrings with a shin pad. There ain't no ergonomic shoulder press, peck deck, inverted leg press, or hack squat – only a horizontal leg press.
