24 Hour Fitness in Denver, Colorado: A Comprehensive Review

If you're searching for a gym that operates 24/7 and offers a wide range of fitness options, the 24 Hour Fitness location in Denver might come to mind. However, it’s essential to consider the experiences of current and past members before making a decision. Here’s an overview of what to expect when visiting this gym, especially regarding its on-site services, accessibility, and amenities.

On-site Services and Amenities

This gym offers a variety of on-site services crucial for personal fitness journeys. However, many reviews indicate that while it has potential, some facilities are in dire need of repair. Some members reported broken cable equipment and issues with water fountains overflowing. Furthermore, there's a consistent request for more benches and squat platforms to accommodate the growing number of members. In terms of amenities, the facility includes a swimming pool and a wheelchair-accessible entrance, catering to a diverse clientele. The wheelchair-accessible car park and toilet facilities add to its inclusiveness, although some users have pointed out cleanliness issues with the wheelchair-accessible toilet.

Membership Required and Accessibility

As is standard with most gyms, a membership is required to access the facilities. While the cost is relatively low compared to other gyms in the area, members have expressed concerns about the overall value considering the condition of the equipment and overcrowding during peak hours. Accessibility is generally positive, with features like a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking available. However, numerous complaints have been made about the cramped conditions, particularly in locker rooms. Some customers have found them too small to use effectively, raising questions about their functionality.

Planning Your Visit

If you choose to visit the gym, planning around peak hours is advisable as it can get crowded. One member mentioned that even during off-peak hours, certain equipment was often unavailable due to high demand. For those who prefer quieter times, going early in the morning or late in the evening could be beneficial, although some reports indicate that the gym is not truly open 24 hours as advertised—particularly on weekends.

Final Thoughts

The 24 Hour Fitness gym in Denver has a mix of positive and negative feedback from its visitors. While the friendly staff and positive vibes contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, ongoing issues with equipment maintenance and cleanliness persist. If you're looking for a basic gym experience with accessibility and a range of services, this location may suit your needs, but be prepared for its limitations. Always weigh these factors against alternative gyms to find the best fit for your fitness routine.

I 'ad been a member of this gym for over 2 years before switchin' to a different local gym. The gym is quite small for the number of folks it serves (only 1 bar for bench pressin', 4 squat racks in total, etc.), it tends to be a bit dirty, and most of the equipment is rather outdated. Nevertheless, the staff were generally friendly and always on time to open the gym in the mornin's.
Sara Harris (5/25/25, 8:38 PM):
I've been to 24-hour fitness locations all across the country, and this one is a bit smaller. However, it's perfectly functional, especially considering the price. It's only 3 minutes from my house, everyone is friendly and helpful, and it has all the equipment I need, so I can't really complain. Plus, it's an extremely clean gym – typically you see 24-hour locations with some cleanliness issues, but not this one, that's for sure.
Gary Hall (5/24/25, 9:19 AM):
I fancy this Gym quite a bit, it's rather handy. However, I do recall when 24-hour fitness truly meant 24 hours. Alas, the operational hours at this gym just keep dwindling. I understand it may be challenging to find staff willing to work during off-peak times, but honestly, it's nearly 2024. How difficult could it be to simply install key cards on the doors and grant members 24-hour access?
Dennis Cox (5/23/25, 11:04 PM):
I do believe that the manager lacks experience in managing a gym or selecting gym trainers. While I am exercising, I notice him observing my workout - he seems like a copycat. Additionally, I have seen him instructing some of his staff members not to interact with me; this behavior is simply pathetic. I do not intend to be disrespectful, but I think he is very judgmental and could benefit from some managerial training.
Danielle Nguyen (5/19/25, 7:43 PM):
They kept charging me for a membership for over a year after I requested to cancel, I asked to make a complaint and they said they couldn't do anything. Really frustrated but still a good spot to get your workout in.
Pamela Bailey (5/18/25, 4:52 PM):
The weight area is rather snug and confined, which is exacerbated by their peculiar opening hours.

A so-called "24 hour" fitness establishment that remains closed until 8am on weekends, shuts down at 8pm on Fridays, and curiously lacks any actual 24-hour operating days.

It might be more beneficial to make the extra effort and drive to Arvada, Alameda, or Lowry instead.
Daniel Campbell (5/18/25, 6:52 AM):
Folks must understand that this here is a 24-hour "Active" gym, which means it's on the smaller side. Once you reckon with that, this gym is just grand for your day-to-day workouts. No doubt, you might need to make do here and there if you've got a mighty specific routine in mind and it's bustling, but to some of them who grumble, it seems like everything's gotta be tip-top for 'em. I've figured out the best times for me, and I'm chuffed with it; particularly as this spot is just a two-minute stroll from my place. My main gripe is that this club could do with a proper, thorough scrubbing.
Eugene Henderson (5/13/25, 7:11 AM):
So, this gym used to be my favorite spot, but it has become way too packed at all times of the day now. When do you guys decide to stop letting people in? It's absurd. Just one bench?! I'm out.
Janice Torres (5/11/25, 2:28 AM):
I just moved to the area and checked out this gym. Dirty, smelly, and loads of broken equipment. What a nightmare! And to top it off, the opening hours are dreadful.
Keith Clark (5/10/25, 2:34 AM):
I recently signed up at this gym, and let me tell you, it's brilliant. Great value for money and immaculately maintained. If you're interested in personal training, Donavon is the real deal. He's incredibly attentive to your fitness goals and creates a comprehensive plan to help you achieve them. I cannot recommend him enough!
Paul Jenkins (5/7/25, 2:13 AM):
This gym is absolutely the worst I've ever been to. The gear is in terrible shape, and the place is an absolute mess. If you fancy a workout that leaves your knees wobbling while running on a rickety treadmill, then this is the spot for you. It's always packed because it's the only budget-friendly option around. You're better off making the extra 5-10 minute drive to a gym in Arvada or Westminster.
Jeffrey Wilson (5/5/25, 1:25 PM):
Edit: The deadlift bar has finally arrived after waiting for a whopping 2 months, which I suppose is a positive development.

The gym will be closed for a day for a thorough cleaning. It's quite unpleasant. I can't fathom how the staff here tolerate the odors and grime.

Well, it's been over a month of inquiring about the arrival of a new hexagonal deadlift bar, and despite being repeatedly assured that it’s “on its way,” there is still no sight of it. It must be en route from Antarctica considering the lengthy delay. Absolutely unacceptable.
Bryan Cook (4/30/25, 9:05 PM):
Just an astounding Gym Manager; Words cannot convey how thankful I am for the dedication and effort put into the guest.
Philip Kim (4/28/25, 9:24 PM):
It's a right mess, it is. Absolutely dreadful bathrooms, not a decent sight at all. Machines are in poor condition. I even grab a Starbucks just to avoid using their facilities. They let people get away with terrible gym etiquette like dropping weights noisily. I reckon I'll have to ring up the health department about this.
Noah Ortiz (4/28/25, 8:04 PM):
This gym is at a dreadful point it shouldn't be at. Four employees will be at the gym not doing their job, utterly useless workers.
Mary Sullivan (4/28/25, 12:17 PM):
The staff 'round here are right friendly and approachable, I must say. I'm still getting the hang of this gym lark, but never do I feel bashful about seeking a helping hand. The place as a whole is kept in tip-top shape, I tell you what. The gear is always spick and span, with disinfectant close at hand. I'm quite chuffed with all the fancy perks and equipment they've got going on at this joint.
Aaron Price (4/26/25, 6:48 PM):
This gym 'ere is quite packed and could do with more space for parkin'. The upkeep of the equipment ain't up to scratch, needs improvin'. There should be more stations for disinfectant in the weight area, as sometimes the gear is proper nasty and there ain't even anythin' to clean it with. On the bright side, the equipment is newer and of decent quality, so at least there's that.
Ryan Taylor (4/26/25, 3:27 PM):
Quite petite, innit? Numerous individuals tend to superset every bit of kit during their workouts, leaving their stuff all ovah the place like they own the bleedin' joint. What a bother, if you ask me!
Michael Fisher (4/25/25, 10:47 AM):
April has truly been a game-changer for this gym. Her innovative ideas to enhance functionality have really made a difference. I had visited this gym years ago but switched to the 80th location because of its size. However, after the 80th location closed down, I found myself back here at the Highlands branch and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed!
Austin Scott (4/24/25, 7:54 AM):
It’s quite difficult to fathom that you continued to charge members while the gym was closed and are unwilling to refund those funds. I was billed for 2 months even though I had put my account on hold. Now, in order to recover my money, I have to become a Creditor and navigate through your bankruptcy claim procedure. I strongly advise anyone considering joining as a member here, to think twice!
