Esporta Fitness: A Review of Accessibility and Amenities in Springfield, Massachusetts

Accessibility is a significant factor for many gym-goers, and Esporta Fitness in Springfield excels in this regard. The facility boasts a wheelchair-accessible entrance, providing ease of access for everyone. Additionally, members can find a wheelchair-accessible car park that enhances convenience for those with mobility challenges. The locker rooms feature a wheelchair-accessible toilet, ensuring comfort and inclusivity for all users.

Planning Your Visit

When planning your visit to Esporta Fitness, be aware that a membership is required to enjoy the various amenities. The gym features a spacious layout with three floors dedicated to different workouts. As one visitor noted, it’s an ideal spot for those who appreciate a lively atmosphere, especially on the basketball court where competitive play thrives.

A Diverse Range of Amenities

Esporta Fitness offers more than just standard gym equipment; it includes a swimming pool, sauna, and spacious showers. The swimming pool not only serves as a place for serious workouts but also provides opportunities for relaxation after intense sessions. However, user feedback indicates that the cleanliness of these facilities, particularly the showers and pool, often leaves much to be desired.

The Overall Atmosphere

The overall atmosphere of Esporta Fitness has garnered mixed reviews. While many appreciate the large space and natural light, others have raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. One member highlighted the importance of a well-maintained environment, stating that a clean gym significantly enhances their experience. Unfortunately, reports of unclean equipment, dusty machines, and overflowing trash indicate areas in need of improvement.

The Importance of Management and Staff

Feedback on staff and management is equally polarized. While some customers praise the friendly and attentive service provided by staff members like Chelsea and Daquan, others express frustration over management inconsistencies and lack of responsiveness. It's clear that effective management greatly influences overall satisfaction at Esporta Fitness.

Conclusion: Worth a Try?

Esporta Fitness in Springfield, MA, is a promising option for those seeking a gym with extensive amenities and accessibility features. However, potential members should be prepared for some challenges, particularly regarding cleanliness and staff responsiveness. If you are looking for a gym with a basketball court, swimming pool, and sauna while also prioritizing accessibility, Esporta Fitness might still be worth considering. However, managing expectations is crucial, as user experiences vary widely.

The cleanliness at this gym is absolutely top-notch! One of the employees, Daquan, truly went above and beyond with his work. His polite interactions with gym-goers during their workouts were outstanding. I must commend him for his excellent job and the overall cleanliness of the gym.

To be honest, you might want to consider heading over to Best Fitness, where the staff genuinely show concern and the maintenance crew actually puts in the effort. The dumbbells seem to have been gnawed on by someone mid-workout, giving off a "juice head" vibe.

The weight room floors are in disrepair, with some areas caving in while others are bulging upwards. The quality of the squat racks leaves much to be desired. I end up spending a good portion of my workout time re-racking weights left behind by others, a task that should fall on the staff.

The ceiling on the second floor looks like it could collapse at any moment. The basketball court is hoarded by the same group who act like they own it, not allowing newcomers a chance to play, even when "nexts" have been established. The regular players, who may have peaked in high school, play as if NBA scouts are watching, leading to arguments and fights on the court.

It's turned the gym, once a safe space for many, into a potentially risky place, even just to use the treadmill. Honestly, this gym doesn't deserve any stars, but the rating can't go that low. Save your money and join Best Fitness instead. Heck, even Planet Fitness is a better option than whatever Esporta Fitness offers. The trainers there don't seem to have ever lifted a weight in their lives, let alone done a single jumping jack or push-up.
Kenneth Adams (5/4/25, 1:30 AM):
I paid a visit recently, and I must say I was quite disappointed with the state of the gym.

Safety Concerns

Once I stepped inside, I couldn't help but notice that the gym floor seemed a bit worse for wear. There were some areas that looked like they might give way at any moment, raising major safety alarms. A sturdy and secure environment is absolutely essential in any fitness establishment.

Equipment Condition

On top of that, the gym gear wasn't faring much better. A lot of the machines were looking rather dated and in need of some TLC, with visible rust and malfunctions. This not only takes away from the workout experience but also poses a risk of injury to users.

Final Thoughts

Although this spot has the potential to be a hotspot for fitness fanatics, it's clear that urgent action is needed to address these safety and maintenance issues. Until improvements are made, I would suggest exploring other gyms that put safety and top-quality equipment front and center.

This gym lacks attention to cleanliness and the management is unreliable. You can expect to encounter numerous shortcomings that require improvement (leaky roofs, moldy showers, poorly maintained equipment.) The staff at the gym only seem concerned with boosting sales and show little regard for the overall environment. It's worth noting that Alex doesn't even use the facilities, yet somehow manages the place. This fact speaks volumes about the overall atmosphere. Additionally, be prepared to leave dishonest reviews if you want to bring a friend for free. This gym is on a downward spiral and could greatly benefit from a team that genuinely cares about its upkeep. For a superior gym experience, Powerhouse or Best Fitness would be more suitable options.
Ronald Kim (5/2/25, 3:21 AM):
If I could give this gym 0 stars or even less, I definitely would. I first joined this gym under the impression of a ONE WEEK free pass, but it turned out to be only 3 days. No biggie there compared to the rest of my experience. On the very first day at the gym, I stepped into the locker room to find not a single paper towel dispenser stocked, with what seemed like bits of toilet paper strewn across the floor. Heading up to the basketball court, it was an absolute mess – dirty clothes, including underwear, and trash scattered all around the benches. Not to mention some equipment falling apart.
On the second day, we finally had paper towels, but now someone decided to do their laundry in the sink, folks in the sauna showing off their sweaty backsides on the seats, and the showers looking sad and utterly uninviting. And let's not forget that from day one until day two, the sole janitor they seemed to have was mostly lounging at the front desk, chatting away and not doing much.
Day three rolled around, and lo and behold, more of the same chaos. The court was supposedly closed for cleaning soon, but it was still a mess. Now, there were random single crocs and slides scattered around the gym.
Skipping ahead a bit, the gym that was supposed to be cleaned, dusted, and have its fixtures repaired turned out to be even worse than before.
Roughly 2 1/2 weeks into my membership, I found out that I would be charged an annual fee just 14 days after signing up – something that was conveniently glossed over during the signing process. It may not be a huge deal per se, but it's definitely something that should have been clearly explained verbally to new members. I was prompted earlier in the week about a free fitness assessment, which I wasn't informed about initially. So, I scheduled it for today, March 21st, 2025, at 09:30. I got to the gym at 09:09, only to find the usual scanners on the counter missing. After managing to scan in, I mentioned the appointment and went to warm up as I wasn't feeling particularly motivated that day. By 09:25, I was sitting in the lobby until 10:00 without anyone acknowledging me. A couple passed by me a couple of times, asking the person two seats away why they were there, and on the second pass, to remind them about the appointment. I messaged the contact who confirmed my appointment, expressing my displeasure at being ignored for half an hour. They responded with a flurry of excuses and a rather forced apology, only offering to reschedule when I was visibly upset rather than just annoyed.
This gym is hands down the worst one I've ever set foot in. If it weren't for it being the only gym with a sauna within a reasonable distance, I'd definitely take my business elsewhere. Guess it might be time to consider building a personal sauna 🙄
Ralph Morris (5/1/25, 5:06 PM):
I've been frequenting Esporta for a good five years now. My primary draw? It's gotta be the Aqua Fit dynamo, Lisa. Catch her leading sessions thrice weekly with her infectious energy, eclectic tunes, and ever-shifting routines. She's a real standout.

Another big plus is the recent management overhaul. Got an issue? They're on it. Huge props to the cleaning tag team, Sam and Kevin, who've truly turned things around. The women's locker room floors have never sparkled this brightly! Kudos to Sami for the fantastic work.
Amy Harris (4/30/25, 12:13 AM):
Top-notch gym in Springfield! Alex got me all set up with my membership and provided exceptional service! The pool, sauna, and jacuzzi are amazing, and the zumba classes are hands down the best in town!
Willie Edwards (4/28/25, 1:37 AM):
The gym I went to, mate, was a bit of a disaster. Alex and Tim, the blokes running the place, seemed a bit racist and obsessed with money. The cleaners they hired didn't even bother to tidy up the blokes' showers properly, leaving them filthy until the next day. And don't even get me started on the new staff - lazy as can be, they were. Definitely not the healthiest gym around, especially considering how much cash you're forking out.
George Cook (4/27/25, 11:04 AM):
This gym is fantastic with loads of top-notch facilities. The team and management are super helpful and really know their stuff. And the location? Spot on!
Harper Price (4/27/25, 10:14 AM):
I do quite enjoy frequenting this gym due to its pool facility, but each visit requires a conscious effort to not be utterly repulsed by its lack of cleanliness. It appears that the benches in the locker room and sauna are seldom sanitized, and the floor consistently accumulates stray hairs. The pool itself urgently requires a thorough vacuuming, as there are noticeable clumps of dust and hair settled at its bottom. To add to the unsanitary conditions, I recently encountered remnants of soggy, old paper trash on the pool deck.

Despite these hygiene shortcomings, I still make use of the pool; however, when asked for recommendations by friends, I suggest they seek alternative fitness centers. Moreover, the adherence to proper etiquette in cleaning gym equipment leaves much to be desired, with individuals rarely wiping down machines after use. This issue could be rectified by offering more readily available spray bottles, instead of a solitary cleaning station servicing fifty machines positioned inconveniently in the center of the room.

Hopefully, the management addresses these cleanliness concerns promptly, as the situation only seems to deteriorate with time. On a positive note, the group fitness classes offered here are quite commendable!
Betty Ramos (4/26/25, 5:57 AM):
The Gym in Springfield is absolutely top-notch! With its three floors, pool, sauna, and jacuzzi, it's truly a fitness haven. And let's not forget about the open gym basketball court – a fantastic touch! The value for money with all these amenities is simply unmatched! Cheers to a stellar workout experience!
Louis Phillips (4/25/25, 6:36 PM):
I must say, these chaps were ever so welcoming and quite accommodating during my stay in the vicinity for business. I only had the pleasure of utilizing the weight room, and I must say, it did not disappoint. The gym was pristine, the folks were splendid, and the overall experience was top-notch. Cheers to a fine establishment!
Mark Coleman (4/25/25, 3:43 PM):
The gym, oh dear chap, is quite a convenient spot; but I must say, the crowd that frequents it can be a bit bothersome.
Moreover, there seems to be a shortage of staff at the establishment, and the equipment, flooring, and even the roofs are in dire need of some speedy repairs.
Once the long-awaited "renovations" are carried out, this gym could swiftly regain its former status as a top-notch 5-star facility!
The current staff do their best, but they could certainly benefit from some extra support! Cheers!
Sharon Cox (4/25/25, 1:21 PM):
Absolute nightmare, mate. I used to frequent this gym back in the day when it was LA Fitness. But crikey, what's happened since then? The blokes running the place are rubbish, only bothered about swiping your cash, and the gear is dodgy as. They need to give the staff a proper retraining so they're all on the same page, 'cause one person says one thing, and the other says something completely different. And don't even get me started on those 4 or 5 star reviews - no way they're legit! It's like the whole gym is being run bonkers! Ain't there a manager in charge? If I could give them negative 5 stars, I bloomin' well would. This should be against the law, I tell ya!
