My inaugural visit to Barry's was absolutely smashing. The workout was intense yet welcoming, with plenty of options to customize based on your fitness level. Lydia's class was simply marvelous!
Elizabeth Gray (6/2/25, 11:32 AM):
Great workout, but the price per class is rather steep.
Tyler Ford (6/2/25, 5:44 AM):
Kevin’s classes are pure fire! I can't wait for Saturday mornings because Kevin always pushes you to give it your all. He's an absolute master at what he does! That's why you always see people waiting in the Barry's lobby, hoping to snag a spot in his class. Without a doubt, he's one of my top favorite instructors!
Lydia is an absolutely smashing coach, I must say!
Sara Phillips (5/19/25, 7:54 PM):
Q is an awe-inspiring instructor and his playlist is consistently on fire...
Thomas Morris (5/15/25, 7:11 PM):
What a smashing workout! I consider myself quite fit, but crikey, this class was a proper challenge. It's been donkey's years since I last did a Barry's class. It was an absolute cracker, and the instructor was top-notch. I wouldn't suggest this for someone who is just starting their fitness journey, but once they've reached a decent level of fitness, they should give it a whirl. My litmus test would be feeling at ease running 2 miles at an 8:00 pace. Cheers!
Larry Edwards (5/12/25, 6:29 PM):
My favorite HIIT workout in DC. Fabulous location just next to the metro. Immaculate facilities with incredibly welcoming and friendly staff.
Evelyn Reyes (5/12/25, 5:26 PM):
I was going to Barry’s using ClassPass for a total of 6 classes. I enjoyed the class atmosphere and structure. It was challenging at first, but truthfully the entire workout isn’t that lengthy and the floor exercise part won’t exhaust you or push you to the limit. Nevertheless, I appreciated the impact it had on my body.
However, the MUSIC needs to be turned down... it's overwhelmingly loud in a frightening manner. Even with the complimentary earplugs they offer, it is STILL TOO LOUD. The poor sound quality makes the music sound terrible, the instructors have to shout over it and it's hard to understand most of what they're saying, which makes me feel quite queasy. Hearing HEALTH should be a greater priority at this gym. I understand people want to feel energized, but getting tinnitus from this is not the way to go.
Peter Alexander (5/12/25, 2:24 PM):
This is one of the cleanest Barry’s I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. The studio is incredibly spacious, and they boast some of the finest coaches and instructors around, with Quintin standing out in particular! The classes are truly transformative and well worth the investment in your health and fitness journey!
Angela Brown (5/11/25, 8:33 AM):
Phil, he's a fantastic instructor, I must say. Quite motivating, always encouraging me to do more reps, lift heavier weights, increase the incline, and go the extra mile than I ever thought possible when I walk through those class doors. It's truly the best way to kick off my day or wind down in the evening. And let's not forget about his impeccable taste in music that really sets the tone for the workout.
Madison Carter (5/6/25, 6:05 AM):
Fantastic workout, loads of fun and quite challenging all at once.
Mia Hughes (5/5/25, 10:21 AM):
Quintin's class is absolutely brilliant!
Austin Kelly (5/1/25, 9:04 AM):
I had my first session with Quintin and I'm absolutely thrilled with the outcome. I arrived about 10 minutes late due to the rain and parking, but the staff were absolutely top-notch. I assumed that arriving late meant I wouldn't be able to join the class, but decided to explore the facilities anyway since I had made the effort. The lady at the reception desk was incredibly helpful and asked if I still wanted to participate! She swiftly guided me to where I could store my belongings before escorting me to my designated treadmill spot. Brilliant 👏
Quintin's workout focused on the lower body. It was challenging and, of course, being late for my first class left me feeling a bit flustered. However, he managed to deliver clear instructions synchronized with the music, even during the more intense segments. I found myself glancing at others to ensure I was in the right place, just in case I misheard or didn't grasp something initially because I was new. But after a few cycles, I caught on. Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the music, and the facilities as a whole. Give it a go!
Isabella Ramirez (4/29/25, 8:02 AM):
I absolutely adore this studio. The instructors and staff are simply amazing, darling!
Amy Anderson (4/29/25, 12:00 AM):
Stopped by for some breakfast smoothies with my partner this morning and right away, we felt a rather snobbish vibe from both the staff and other patrons. Once we hopped back into the car, we both agreed that the atmosphere was just plain off. The staff member who prepared our smoothies could have at least put on a smile. Our only positive interaction was with the cashier at the fuel bar, who happened to be from NC like us. There was hardly any warmth in terms of personality... quite pretentious.
Originally, we spotted Jamba Juice on Google Maps, but it was closed when we arrived... So, I approached a lady ENJOYING A FUEL BAR SMOOTHIE outside Jamba Juice (right next to Barry’s Bootcamp) and asked where we could grab a smoothie. She simply replied, "I'm not familiar with this area."
It was pretty evident that we weren't really welcomed... almost as if she didn't want to share the secret with us.
Brandon Adams (4/28/25, 11:10 PM):
My favorite workout! I absolutely adore the extensive workout schedule available in the morning (starting at 6:30) or evening. I give it a solid 4 out of 5 because classes fill up real fast, so you better act quickly and book a week in advance if you want to snag a spot in one of the early morning sessions.
Brandon Rodriguez (4/28/25, 10:51 PM):
Fantastic HIIT session! I absolutely adore the pumping music and motivational instructors.
Sara Morris (4/27/25, 3:16 PM):
Went to their first time with class pass. Good atmosphere, instructor was enthusiastic, but the class was not as good as I had anticipated. It was difficult to hear the instructor and follow directions. Half of the time, I didn’t even know what exercise he was asking us to do. I was looking at other people and copying the exercise. Good for once in a while, but not as good as other gyms in DC that offer classes. Also, the smoothie ($12) was okay, not bad but definitely not worth $12.
