I took Laura's class and it was absolutely fantastic. The instruction was top-notch and the atmosphere was so much fun!
Dorothy Butler (6/1/25, 8:46 PM):
I absolutely adore these classes! I have attended twice and both times have been fantastic experiences. The instructors are incredibly motivating and dedicate time to instruct on proper form. The class flies by, it's enjoyable, and you will undoubtedly receive a thorough workout.
Brittany Gomez (5/28/25, 11:26 PM):
I recently participated in a class led by an instructor in training named Matt.

The team at the gym was extremely friendly and accommodating. Despite their main entrance being under construction, they did a fantastic job of informing us well in advance before the class began.

I found it challenging to keep up with the rhythm of the class. It was unclear when we were meant to row vigorously or pace ourselves.

Here is my feedback:

1. Select music that aligns better with the class's flow.
2. Increase the instructor's energy levels! Build up to the high-energy moments while rowing. Have a clear idea of what you want from and for your students during the class.
3. Provide mats for the floor exercises. Lying on heavily waxed floors when sweaty is not comfortable.
4. In an open-level class, allocate time for form adjustments before starting the workout. It's tricky to make corrections during a sprint.
5. Increase interaction with the instructor! It would be beneficial to see them once or twice during the class instead of them constantly pacing behind you.
6. I understand it's challenging to convey how hard participants should be working, but using work rate as a benchmark for pace might be more effective than percentages.
7. Increase the instructor's microphone volume as it was difficult to hear him over the music.
8. Have your instructors in training attend a spin class taught by Katherine H. or Alli at the Zengo Logan Circle location. Both instructors excel in motivation, pacing, and engaging with their participants.

Overall, I had a positive experience and look forward to returning for another class!

Diane Torres (5/23/25, 4:49 AM):
Superb trainers, smashing workout
Russell Jackson (5/18/25, 11:28 AM):
They used to 'ave an instructor named Lauren who was fantastic. Their business model is a bit lacking, though, and they struggle to retain top-notch instructors. Seems like they're runnin' things poorly. I wouldn't recommend buyin' a ten pack because other locations, like the wharf, 'ave closed down. The concept is grand, though. Other boutique row places like Row House exist. Orange Theory also focuses on rowing. I ended up purchasin' a Concept 2 rower meself and no longer need to fork over a fortune for classes.
Mary Reed (5/10/25, 3:57 AM):
I absolutely adore this new spot! I have found a newfound love for rowing over the typical treadmill run, and DC Row really knows how to make it enjoyable. A definite must-visit!
Joyce Baker (5/7/25, 6:38 PM):
Kate leads a jolly good workout, and the rowing machines and exercise area are absolutely splendid. A fantastic, inviting atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit to DC Row!
Jennifer Smith (5/7/25, 4:18 PM):
I signed up on class pass and braved the rain to get to the gym only to find out that it wasn't at the address listed. The signs on the doors and windows said DC Row, but it wasn't for DC Row. I tried calling them several times 10/15 minutes before my class, hoping someone could give me the correct entrance, but there was no answer. I won't be returning— they need to update the branding on the door or answer the phone. I wasted $14 because I had to cancel and never located the place.
Christina Simmons (5/7/25, 1:58 AM):
Brittany was absolutely fantastic as an instructor, as usual. She really motivated me and made sure my form was on point. I adore her classes.
Mia Ramos (5/5/25, 5:24 PM):
I absolutely adore DC Row, its staff, its location, its friendliness, space, style, and atmosphere. Tina is absolutely fabulous, and David and Tosin are just so lovely.
Billy Alexander (5/4/25, 1:56 PM):
Fantastic class with Tina. She was incredibly attentive and kind.
Debra Nelson (4/22/25, 7:22 PM):
Today was moi first time tryin' DC Row an' I absolutely loved it. Kate was moi instructor an' she was a blast an' made learnin' proper form enjoyable. I will definitely go back an' recommend anyone tryin' to find an alternative to the gym to check this place out. Cheers!
Teresa Clark (4/17/25, 4:40 AM):
DC Row is not following the Covid regulations that are necessary in DC at the moment. When I arrived for my first class, the instructor wasn't wearing a mask and didn't ask for my vaccination card. Another person came in without a mask and requested one from the instructor. He mentioned that masks were optional, and she didn't put one on.

This goes against the current mask mandate and vaccination verification in DC establishments like restaurants and gyms. When I brought this up to him, he acted like he had no clue about it. I decided to leave and didn't participate in the class.
