SweatDC is the spot for you if you're looking to get in shape without dealing with intimidating instructors or a snobby atmosphere. This boutique HIIT studio in DC offers 45 minutes of high-energy cardio and strength training, all set to awesome tunes. The instructors and fellow gym-goers come from all walks of life and are there to support you every step of the way. Plus, unlike other big-name studios, SweatDC has showers, amenities, and a friendly staff who will actually remember your name. It's like "Cheers," but with burpees instead of beer. If you're ready to uncover those elusive abs, this is the place to be.
Samuel Nelson (5/30/25, 7:58 PM):
I've been raving about Sweat DC! I love the range of classes, the committed instructors and management team, the uplifting atmosphere, and I always leave feeling like I had a proper sweat, even after a low-impact barre or Sculpt class.
Diana Ramos (5/27/25, 9:22 PM):
Workouts are brilliant! The coaches really inspire me to keep pushing myself.
Amy Graham (5/25/25, 9:40 PM):
SWEAT is so much fun and a real challenge. The workout is fantastic and the community support is amazing, making it one of my top go-to places. I can't wait to see Coach G expand his business in his new space!
Wayne Jones (5/23/25, 2:03 PM):
One of my top workouts in a bustling city brimming with studios and gyms, SWEATDC is a high-energy 45-minute session where you shake and sweat to the max. The circuits are tough, but the instructors are engaging and hands-on to help out. Get prepared to have a fantastic time!
Janet Kelly (5/23/25, 1:10 PM):
You're expected to cancel your membership 30 days in advance. The fitness trainers are top-notch, but Justice, the operations manager, comes off as shy in person yet shockingly rude over the phone. Not worth $350 a month.
Emma Morales (5/22/25, 4:29 PM):
First time 'ere and starlight showed NO mercy- it was smashing. 11/10. Your body will thank you
Doris James (5/16/25, 7:12 PM):
The coach is very attentive even with many people in the class. All the staff are super friendly and manage to stay professional and engage well with guests, especially when faced with tough questions. Age doesn't matter as they tailor exercises to your skill level so everyone can join in. If you need to cancel last minute, the administrative team handles it smoothly and even applied my credit to a new class I wanted without any issues. The showers are clean, though the curtains could use a bit more maintenance. The carpet gets quite a bit of sweat and dirt from shoes, but I'm not sure if it's steamed weekly to remove germs and debris that accumulates. Still, a top-notch experience!
Nicholas Reynolds (5/13/25, 8:45 AM):
I absolutely adore kicking off my week at Sweat DC whenever I can. The classes are so motivating, challenging, and really boost my confidence with weight training. It's a bonus that the coaches and fellow participants are incredibly friendly and ensure that everyone feels welcomed and prepared to give it their all. They've also been great at double checking my form when something didn't quite feel right. Despite having to trek two miles to get to Sweat, I keep returning because the energy is simply unbeatable.
Bobby Phillips (5/11/25, 6:04 PM):
SWEAT DC is absolutely brilliant! The workouts are a blast, the tunes are spot on, and the trainers bring so much energy. It's truly a fabulous spot with a bunch of supportive and uplifting folks!
Joseph Fisher (5/7/25, 12:48 AM):
I absolutely adore Sweat! The workouts are incredibly intense and challenging, and my strength has improved significantly over the past year! I initially started going to cross train for a half marathon, but ended up continuing long after the race. The atmosphere is so warm and body positive-- the instructors never pressure you about losing weight, and they always maintain high energy and positivity. It's extremely LGBTQ-friendly, and I feel very secure in that environment. The reception staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and they quickly get to know your name. There's a new challenge almost every month that encourages you to make new friends (who are usually neighbors). Although the workout structure remains fairly consistent, they're always introducing exciting new elements (sledgehammers! Rowing machines! EMOMs! Really intense work!). Coach G is fantastic, and his classes are top-notch, but honestly, all the instructors are amazing-- I mainly attend classes with Chris, Brendan, and Nazinga, but I've genuinely enjoyed every instructor I've taken a class with.
I would suggest wearing earplugs because the music can be a tad too loud-- they do provide them though, so no need to worry about remembering to bring your own.
Edward Taylor (5/6/25, 3:23 PM):
After close to ten months at Sweat I can confidently affirm that this gym is the bee's knees: challenging, inclusive, accountable, you name it. It’s tough at the outset, but persevere and the coaches will truly aid you in reaching any physical or mental milestones you establish for yourself. Go on, give them a whirl! 🏋️♂️
Catherine Davis (5/6/25, 2:06 PM):
The results are absolutely smashing, I must say. The sense of community is simply delightful. The classes and platforms are quite innovative, always shifting and growing. The coaches truly show a genuine concern for us. Coach G, Eliza, Gabby, Nazinga, the list could go on and on. 🥰🥰🥰 ...
Judith Lewis (5/4/25, 8:03 AM):
Sweat DC is the absolute best!! The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The workouts are tough but really motivating!! I’ll definitely be returning for more.
Adam Jackson (5/1/25, 5:12 AM):
Superb workout, instructor, and gym space. I popped in on a Friday and they even had a happy hour afterward -- fantastic, encouraging, and welcoming atmosphere. Also had the chance to mingle with neighbors, which was grand.
Abigail Edwards (4/29/25, 11:18 PM):
I would give it more stars if I could. I’ve never been consistent about working out before SweatDC but I truly love it here and WANT to come to class. The classes are challenging but the coaches are encouraging, the community is welcoming, and the studio is beautifully inclusive.
Jonathan Nelson (4/29/25, 4:55 AM):
From the personal training sessions to the array of classes, Sweat DC is truly a hidden gem. Their entire coaching team exudes fantastic energy that's infectious. The workouts are sure to push you in all the right ways. The music selection is top-notch; unlike some workout playlists that offer cheesy renditions of popular songs, this place hits the mark. The dim lighting during classes allows you to fully concentrate on your fitness goals. Plus, bonus points for being a local boutique brand that embraces diversity!
Logan Ross (4/29/25, 4:17 AM):
I highly recommend Sweat DC 100%.
This class combines cardio, weights, and core exercises in a full workout that lasts only 45 minutes. I attend twice a week, focusing on upper body and lower body on different days, and each session feels unique. I always leave feeling both completely exhausted and exhilarated. After just a few weeks, I've noticed a significant increase in my strength.
If you're new to working out, this is a fantastic place to start. The coaching is top-notch.
For those who have primarily focused on cardio and are looking to incorporate more strength training, like myself, this is the perfect starting point. Coach G's workouts, even the weight training, focus on balance and core engagement. Although I have experienced soreness after the workouts here, I've never felt any strain on my back.
And if you typically only lift weights, I dare you to try out one of Coach G's cardio sessions. They're tough—in the best way possible.
Johnny Stewart (4/28/25, 7:10 PM):
I popped by a community class to give this spot a whirl & it was absolutely smashing! The ambiance with the lights & tunes, alongside the instructor (Nazinga), made for a jolly good time. Count me in for a return visit, for sure!
