I've been a member of GMASD for 13 years, starting in fitness class and later moving on to Brazilian jiu-jitsu. As a 63-year-old woman who only started practicing martial arts 5 years ago, I always feel well-supported and respected. The instructors are truly top-notch, and the community is fantastic. The kids' programs are also superb! I give GMASD my HIGHEST recommendation!

This place is really brilliant. I must say, the most challenging part was stepping through the door without knowing what to expect, but everyone from the staff to the students was incredibly warm and welcoming. If you're hesitating about trying something like this, I would definitely recommend giving this place a go.

Located conveniently just across the street from Acworth Elementary, Atlanta Budokan is an engaging and educational martial arts school suitable for all ages (from 4 to adult). Offering a diverse range of martial arts classes, as well as yoga and kickboxing, this dojo provides a fun and interactive learning experience. My children have been learning Aiki Jujutsu here for 3 years, and they eagerly look forward to their classes each week. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, creating a family-friendly atmosphere within the dojo.

Atlanta Budokan is particularly convenient for elementary school kids, as a staff member will escort them from the school to the dojo. They also cater well to older children, such as middle and high school students, with evening classes that run until 7:30 pm, and Saturday sparring sessions for blue belts and above – which my son absolutely adores. Through their training, kids develop self-confidence, listening skills, self-defense techniques, and learn the importance of respect for themselves and others.

One of the highlights for my children during school breaks is attending the summer camps offered by Atlanta Budokan. These week-long camps in June and July are filled with fun activities, including dodgeball tournaments, team competitions, flag games, and exciting field trips. The camps not only provide enjoyment but also teach campers about respect, friendship, teamwork, cooperation, and self-defense skills.

Our family truly values our time spent at Atlanta Budokan.

GAMSD is a fantastic spot to learn Jiujitsu! My 5 year old son has been attending the children's class and absolutely adores it. It’s a wonderful environment for kids to acquire valuable skills that will stay with them for life. I have observed a noticeable change in him since he started; he relishes being tested and earning his stripes. He eagerly anticipates each session and has a great fondness for his Senseis. They put in a lot of effort to ensure the children learn self-defense while enjoying themselves. Excellent establishment, I highly recommend it! 10/10

Georgia Martial Arts is not just a self-defense dojo, mate, it's also a tight-knit community. It's great for families, catering to both the young and the old with classes for kids and adults alike. The instructors, Professor Shaun, Professor Ian, and Professor Leo, are top-notch – knowledgeable, patient, and truly inspiring. And let's not forget about the children's instructor, Estevan, who's both patient and hilarious. Plus, there are no-gi classes taught by Professor Brian and a range of class times to suit everyone's schedule (even you early birds with Instructor Gerardo!). If you're keen on learning self-defense skills, getting healthier, or just joining a rad group of folks, I reckon signing up for a trial at Georgia Martial Arts is the way to go!

I 'ave 3 little ones who attend 'ere. And since day one we were welcomed with open arms, embraced, and our children's names 'ave always been remembered. Teaching our children discipline, self defense, respect, and the list goes on. This is only month one so far. I can only imagine what’s in store for months/years to come. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is a grrreat place to train, mate. I just started training there a few weeks ago and it's top-notch. Sensei Shawn was welcoming from the minute I walked in the door. My training partners are very considerate and patient with me, always teaching me stuff. Sensei Ian is a top bloke as a bjj coach and always motivates us. I'm really chuffed I signed up. Already shedding pounds, mate!
