Wayne Myers (5/27/25, 1:09 PM):
My daughter has been practicing at Boise Studio of Self Defense for three weeks now and she absolutely adores it. Tyson (the owner and main instructor) is truly fantastic with her.

We think Tyson is patient, respectful, good-natured, and more than willing to dedicate extra time to any student in need.

An added benefit we've discovered with this studio is that our daughter has formed several friendships and enjoys playing with them after her class has ended.

During our daughter's classes, we've observed that many of the more experienced children are happy to assist the newer or younger children when needed, which is truly heartwarming.

Some of the parents are friendly, and all the instructors and children we've met have been exceptional.

In just a few weeks, our daughter has already developed body awareness, self-confidence, balance, and hand-eye coordination.

Having experience with martial arts facilities abroad, I can honestly say that if you have children and are seeking a reputable place for them to train, this is it!

Boise Studio of Self Defense is truly top-notch when it comes to kids.

I 'ave nothin' but amazin' things to say about the Boise Studio of Self Defense. The senseis and owners are absolutely lovely folks and incredible with the little ones. Our daughter began 'er karate journey about 4 months back and I've already witnessed a remarkable improvement in 'er discipline, strength, and self-confidence. We intend to stick around for quite some time!
Bryan Patterson (5/23/25, 4:56 AM):
My lad has been attending Karate classes at this establishment for 3 and a half years now, and he is truly enamored with it. Sensei Tyson, Sensei Shelly, and Sensei Nate are remarkable with the youngsters. The young chap always eagerly anticipates his classes, thoroughly enjoys himself, and has gained a wealth of knowledge. The Dojo itself is quite impressive too. It's roomy, tidy, and well-arranged. I wholeheartedly endorse the Boise Studio of Self Defense for anyone keen on Martial Arts. ;)
Doris Powell (5/18/25, 10:58 AM):
I 'ave been a student under kyoshi Pon alongside me wife and kids for the past 5 years. I absolutely adore the atmosphere in the dojo. It's a splendid place to study martial arts and acquire valuable life lessons and skills. I would highly recommend this place to anyone keen on learning martial arts.
Martha Bennett (5/18/25, 4:43 AM):
Begun my eldest daughter 2 weeks back. Already feeling the positive impact from Sensei Tyson and Sensei Shelly flowing over to her school.
Jennifer Lee (5/18/25, 12:51 AM):
Sensei Tyson be a top-notch martial artist, mate, an' a right proper good bloke. Trust him with me kids any day for learnin' self-defense, respect, stayin' fit, an' discipline.

'E's got some fine "spartans" too, higher ranked students helpin' out the young'uns in full classes. Private lessons be full of wisdom as well. This place be 'eads above the other dojos I've visited!

If ye be thinkin' 'bout joinin' or sendin' yer younglings 'ere, give it a go with that free first week! After that, ye won't be wantin' to leave.

The adult classes have some real cool folks trainin' with Sensei Tyson. Them adult "Samix" nights be a blast! Knife fightin' an' bare knuckle boxin' he teaches be both fun an' practical skills for rough situations.

An' the prices be fair compared to other places! So glad I stumbled upon this gem!
Gregory Hayes (5/16/25, 6:28 PM):
I 'member goin' to Dragon Bushido when I was in elementary, though I quit to pursue the arts, I learned how to be a good person AND I learned how to be confident. It was an invaluable investment into who I am today. There are days I wish I continued on with it. I think anyone lookin' for a program that can make you or your kids better as a person 'as found it. All I know is that it changed me for the better. I went from crybaby Jaden to a Jaden with more confidence. This is the place everyone should go to learn not only martial arts but 'ow to be better. Plus their newer gym setup is way more awesome!
Henry Bennett (5/13/25, 2:34 PM):
My two blokes 'ave been goin' to Dragon Busbido for a year now. Kyoshi Pon is an amazin' instructor, I tell ya. 'E's firm but kind, 'e is. 'E teaches honor, perseverance, and respect. The kids are building up their self-esteem while learnin' to behave in a respectful manner, mind ya. Kyoshi recognizes each child's potential and pushes 'em accordingly.

The newly remodeled gym is an added bonus! Top-notch facility, it is.
Russell Edwards (5/12/25, 8:33 AM):
One of the finest karate dojos in the Boise region. It boasts a fantastic facility. Kyoshi Pon is an exceptional instructor, showing great skill in working with children of all ages. His approach is both firm and compassionate. My kids have been attending classes since a tender age and they truly relish the experience.
Jeffrey Jordan (5/9/25, 2:43 PM):
Without a doubt, the finest karate school in Boise. We relocated from Seattle a few months back and were seeking a stellar new karate dojo for our lad. Kyoshi Pon exceeds all our hopes. He is full of zeal and has a genuine care for the craft and the pupils. He pushes them, expects excellence, and nurtures greatness within his students. We are over the moon. Whether you're new to the neighborhood or a long-time local, I strongly endorse this school! We also adore that one of the classes available is extreme martial arts!
Debra Gomez (5/7/25, 8:58 PM):
Quite professional, fantastic staff I must say.
Amanda Ward (5/7/25, 12:16 PM):
I 'ave been trainin' 'ere wif me family fer the past 5 years. I enjoy bein' a student under Kyioshi Pon. I 'ave seen much positive growth in me children and other fellow students. I would recommend Dragon Bushido Martial Arts, it is a great atmosphere and great people.
Dylan Stewart (5/7/25, 10:01 AM):
Kyoshi Pon is the best instructor I've ever had the pleasure of training with, and an even greater individual.
Riley Roberts (5/4/25, 9:04 AM):
What a fantastic spot to study martial arts! Sensai Kyoshi is an outstanding instructor, especially with little ones. The proprietor is simply superb.
Kyle Ford (4/26/25, 5:59 AM):
I can't express enough how brilliant this place is. The Senseis are top-notch instructors. They are kind, patient, fantastic with both kids and adults. The classes provide a fantastic workout! I have a thrilled teenager attending one class, and I am delighted taking some self-defense classes too! The dojo is beautiful, the classes are enjoyable, but also very focused on building strength and skills! 5 stars simply do not capture the true excellence of this place!
Roy Lewis (4/20/25, 6:50 PM):
Brilliant spot for beginners and seasoned pros alike. A jolly and welcoming atmosphere. You really get your money's worth. It's like hands-on training that's genuinely valuable.
Amelia Sanchez (4/19/25, 12:15 AM):
This is the best dojo in town, I tell ya. Sensei Tyson is a phenomenal teacher, and he's great with the kids, I'm tellin' ya. We've been to a couple of other places, but there are quite a few McDojos in the area, ya know what I mean? You won't get that experience here, no siree. Our son has been doing karate since he was two, and within the first year of training here, his form improved significantly. He keeps on growin', which is amazing to witness. Thank you for this business. The Wentworth family highly recommends and is so grateful, I'm tellin' ya.
Andrew Baker (4/16/25, 8:14 AM):
Our daughter 'as been attending that place for 6 years now. The instructor is absolutely brilliant!
Nancy Bennett (4/16/25, 6:53 AM):
If ye be seekin' a studio with splendid folks and grand energy, then BSSD be the place fer ye. All the senseis pour their hearts and souls into each wee one. They take the time to truly ken each child and their needs. I cannae praise this place enough. If I could, I'd give them 10 STARS, I would.
Andrew Gray (4/13/25, 8:38 AM):
My little ones 'ave been attendin' Dragon Bushido for a good few years now. The staff there are absolutely brilliant - Kyoshi puts in the effort to tailour each child's trainin' to suit their individual needs. The facility is top notch and so are the instructors. I would highly recommend it!
