Nancy and Damien are top-notch and the fitness center is such a positive space that motivates me to come in every morning eager to workout and improve. However, she made it feel accessible and, during my time under her guidance, I've witnessed a steady improvement in both my strength and technique. I 'ave nuffin' but amazin' things to say about Uplift, 'specially Nancy and Glen! As someone who was relatively new to weightliftin' just three months ago, I feel like I 'ave learned so much, both in terms of fitness and nutrition. I’ve definitely seen physical changes in me body, but more importantly, I’ve also 'ad such great mental gains, which to me was the biggest win from joinin' the Uplift community. Glen was an amazin' trainer and 'ad such a positive vibe in each class. Even on the days that I didn’t feel like workin' out, I always left me session feelin' so glad I did it and so proud of meself. Knowin' I can now deadlift and bench press and squat—things that seemed almost impossible just months ago—makes me feel so incredibly 'appy and motivated to keep pursuin' me fitness goals. As someone who is still in eatin' disorder recovery, Uplift 'elped me find me passion for the gym with exercises that best suited me and where I am at in me life. I cannot recommend them enough!

Uplift has completely changed my perspective on strength training. This program seamlessly incorporates yoga and barbells! Nancy, the head coach, is incredibly well-informed and tailors the workout to ensure you see results. She emphasizes the importance of tuning in to your body to prevent injuries. Having been to numerous gyms, it's Nancy's exceptional expertise and unwavering focus on details that have helped me achieve results more quickly! I highly recommend her!!

I came across Uplift just over a year ago. In the first 6 weeks, I had already dropped a dress size. I concentrated on the workouts and was sensible about my diet. I never felt deprived or stressed. I've always been active, and like many folks, as I aged, things got a bit softer. I tried various things - a personal trainer, BeachBody programs, my own workouts - and each time they worked but weren't sustainable. Either the personal training was way too intense so I got burnt out, or with Beachbody, it's a set program for a specific period that you do alone at home, and when it's done you're left to figure out how to maintain the progress. Not so with Nancy and Uplift. Firstly, the programs are tailored to your individual goals and fitness level. And, she stresses working hard but not to the point of burning out. The workout is challenging, but I walk out feeling energized, not drained. And, when you stick with it, the small changes happen quickly - you walk faster, you can suddenly contemplate a 5k with your pals, you can play with your kids or nephews without feeling like you're going to collapse! The perks go on...
I wanted to share this review because you can search high and low and not find a workout or a studio that is customized for you specifically, welcoming, and a place you look forward to each time.

I am absolutely delighted that I discovered Uplift!!! It has completely transformed my fitness routine and overall health and well-being.

I joined Uplift just over a year ago with the intention of incorporating strength training into my workouts, but as a woman, I was a bit apprehensive about venturing into and navigating a weight room at a typical gym. Uplift offers an incredibly welcoming, motivating, and supportive atmosphere. Nancy, Glen, and Damien are phenomenal coaches! I've found that their semi-private personal training approach provides the individualized attention of personal training while also fostering a sense of community through the small group classes.

Their nutrition coaching and inbody analysis scans have given me a strategic plan for achieving sustainable strength gains and weight loss without feeling restricted or limited in any way.

If you're seeking a program that focuses on creating consistency and longevity in your fitness routine, I wholeheartedly recommend Uplift - it's a perfect 10/10!

Nancy and her crew at Uplift are absolutely fantastic. Nancy got me in tip-top shape for my wedding years ago and now she's helping me out again in my mom phase. I've seen some really great results in terms of strength and mobility, my lower back pain has improved, and I can easily keep up with my kiddos. Working with the folks at Uplift has been an absolute delight. They truly pay attention to your individual goals and collaborate with you to achieve them in a sustainable manner. Thanks to their team and program, I have successfully reached the milestone of deadlifting over 200 pounds, which is quite an accomplishment for a petite 5’3 lady like myself. I cannot recommend them enough!

Being a fitness enthusiast, I was eager to build muscle and get in shape for my big day, as well as connect with like-minded individuals. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly embraced by the tight-knit community, and Nancy's fitness approach stood out from any other I had experienced. Her programs provided me with consistent tangible results, offering a clear roadmap of my fitness journey rather than random exercises. The workouts were not only practical for everyday life but also tailored to my personal goals.

The instructors at Uplift exuded positivity, encouragement, and support, always meeting me where I was at on any given day. I joined Uplift shortly after moving to DC and it has been one of the best decisions I've made! Being new to strength training, Nancy, Damien, and Glen are fantastic trainers who make going to the gym a fun, positive, and rewarding experience.

Uplift is a fantastic place to work out, and I can feel (and see!) my strength and confidence improving month by month. The classes are small enough to receive individual, focused support while also fostering a strong sense of community. The personalized, adaptive programs and nutrition support have greatly helped me establish consistency and achieve tangible results. I highly recommend Uplift and cannot praise Nancy and the team enough.

Fantastic spot to kick off my weightlifting adventure and sculpt those muscles. The intimate group setting, with a maximum of 5 participants, ensures you receive plenty of one-on-one guidance while enjoying the camaraderie of a group workout.
There's a good mix of ages and fitness abilities, but they customize each person's program to match their specific goals.
