LA Fitness Waldorf, Maryland: A Comprehensive Overview

Located in Waldorf, Maryland, LA Fitness offers a range of amenities designed to meet the diverse needs of its members. However, user experiences vary widely. This article will explore the key features and some of the challenges faced by gym-goers at this location.

Accessibility Features

One notable aspect of LA Fitness Waldorf is its wheelchair-accessible entrance and wheelchair-accessible car park. These features make it easier for individuals with mobility challenges to access the gym facilities. Additionally, there is a wheelchair-accessible toilet, ensuring that all members can enjoy a comfortable experience.

Amenities and Atmosphere

Members frequently comment on the atmosphere at LA Fitness Waldorf. The gym is described as welcoming, with courteous staff and fellow gym-goers who respect gym etiquette. Many appreciate the variety of amenities, including a swimming pool, sauna, and shower facilities. However, some have voiced concerns over maintenance issues, such as the hot tub and swimming pool sometimes being in poor condition.

Planning Your Visit

It's essential for potential members to plan their visit, especially during peak hours when the gym tends to get crowded. Some users have pointed out that equipment can be hard to access during busy times, and long wait times for machines can occur. For those looking to utilize specific equipment, it may be wise to visit during off-peak hours.

Membership Requirements

A membership is required to enjoy most of what LA Fitness has to offer. However, prospective members should be aware of the policies regarding guest passes and trial memberships, which can be confusing based on customer feedback. In many instances, visitors were only allowed to use cardio machines unless they purchased a day pass.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

While the facility generally maintains a good standard of cleanliness, some reviews point to ongoing issues with broken equipment and insufficient cleaning in high-traffic areas such as showers and locker rooms. Regular maintenance of the toilet and shower facilities is crucial for the comfort of all members.

Staff Interaction and Customer Service

The quality of customer service at LA Fitness Waldorf varies significantly. Some members report having a positive experience with friendly and helpful staff, while others have had frustrating encounters, especially when trying to resolve membership issues or equipment malfunctions. Staff training and customer service practices seem to require improvement based on several reviews.

Final Thoughts

With a wide range of amenities like a swimming pool and sauna, as well as accessible features for individuals with disabilities, it provides a good fitness environment. However, potential members should weigh the importance of maintenance issues and customer service experiences when considering a membership. Overall, this gym can be a solid choice for fitness enthusiasts willing to navigate some inconsistencies.

The team at LA Fitness are simply smashing, always welcoming and quick to assist with any issues. Ivanka is a jolly good instructor, full of energy and positivity. Cathy's yoga sessions are absolutely splendid! They are brimming with enthusiasm, offer insightful teachings on yoga, and provide a perfectly balanced workout.
Janet Brooks (5/9/25, 12:19 PM):
Johnny really came through for me with an excellent offer. I managed to secure memberships for my wife, my son, and myself, all for just under $60 per month. That's three memberships for less than $60! The gym itself could do with some sprucing up, though. The bathrooms always seem to be dirtier than necessary.
Zoey Hill (5/8/25, 12:31 AM):
Eli provided excellent customer service. I had a minor issue, and he resolved it effortlessly! I highly recommend reaching out to him if you encounter any problems!

I usually don't write gym reviews. I've been working out for more than 15 years and this gym has got to be the worst one I've ever visited. Firstly, the equipment doesn't function properly, particularly the stairmasters among the cardio machines are out of order. Moreover, there's a notice on the wall limiting cardio workouts to 30 minutes per person during busy times. But how can one stick to that when your cardio machines are faulty! In my opinion, the gym definitely needs more room!
Nicholas Campbell (5/5/25, 6:26 PM):
There always seems to be something amiss at this gym. I've visited older LA Fitness locations that are better maintained than this one. Lately, the sauna is consistently out of order, and it appears that the management isn't too concerned with maintaining the facilities. Despite its relative newness, this particular LA Fitness falls short in terms of upkeep. I only go here because of its proximity, but it's disappointing considering its age.
Laura Kim (4/29/25, 5:00 PM):
Lovely gym, I must say. The only tweaks I'd suggest are a larger space for the dumbbells and perhaps a tad more tidiness in the locker rooms. Yet, one comprehends that it's not entirely the gym's doing - finding reliable help can be quite the challenge, indeed. In any case, the cost is quite reasonable considering all the perks included in the membership.
Amy Price (4/26/25, 3:07 AM):
Laina was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the gym facilities and membership options. She addressed all of my inquiries in great detail. I value her exceptional customer service; she truly looked after me!
Kevin Alexander (4/24/25, 10:59 PM):
To be perfectly honest, this gym is more like a 3.75 in my book. I rounded up, you know. Quite a few machines are out of order, and they offer fewer classes compared to other branches. I still frequent this place because of the pool and sauna. Fingers crossed they get the broken equipment fixed soon.
Sandra Brown (4/24/25, 7:18 PM):
The blokes at this gym are quite rude, I say. They shouldn't be hogging more than one piece of equipment at a time, it's just not cricket. And they really ought to employ a janitor who's keen on actually working and keeping this place spick and span. It wouldn't hurt for the members to do their part in keeping things tidy as well, what?
Bobby Fisher (4/24/25, 3:10 AM):
We 'ad our enrollment meetin' with Demarre. Excellent professionalism and upbeat attitude, I tell ya. He walked us through all amenities and options, of which there are many. A very clean facility, and 'avin' the Kids Club is a tremendous 'elp for parents!
Christina Thomas (4/22/25, 1:13 AM):
I 'aven't been back 'ere since I 'ad to inform the staff that ALL of their water was brown, yes toilet, sink, and "filtered" drinkin' water, which it then took staff over 20 mins to place signs on the machines to not drink, which people completely ignored. This place is overcrowded. Some people just stand around 'oldin' machines and talkin'. We pay all this money with barely any amenities compared to the larger locations. You can almost never find the weights you are lookin' for because they ain't where they should be or trainers are 'oardin' them in their area unused. With all that you get, you might as well save $20 and go to Planet Fitness for less.
Ava Coleman (4/20/25, 6:05 PM):
This gym 'ere could be way better, I tell ya. They always be findin' reasons to shut early. What kind of gym closes at 6pm on a Saturday, I ask ya? They even closed early on Easter without givin' any notice. I'm proper peeved with these hours, I am. Us members need to gather 'round and sign a petition for some changes in the club's hours, if ya ask me.
Marilyn Baker (4/19/25, 1:39 PM):
There is a lot of equipment out of service at the gym. The pool area could use some power washing and a bit of cleaning.
Willie Rodriguez (4/19/25, 12:39 AM):
As a regular visitor, their major downside would be the broken equipment. The sauna, water fountain, and different equipment have all experienced breakdowns at various times throughout the year. Nonetheless, the facilities are well-maintained and they offer exceptional customer service. If you're just seeking a spot to stroll on the treadmill and perform some dumbbell workouts, I would wholeheartedly endorse this establishment.
Abigail Kelly (4/18/25, 8:07 PM):
I ultimately opted to switch over to LA Fitness after Planet Fitness failed to meet my cleanliness standards. They are quite tidy and provide a wide range of amenities, but I'm not fond of the numerous fees such as the initiation fee, annual fee, etc. (fees galore!). Nevertheless, I suppose it will be worth it in the long run.
Randy Taylor (4/18/25, 4:22 PM):
I work out 'ere 6 days a week. I 'ave recently found a cockroach in the ladies loo, the whole place and machines are absolutely filthy, and the broken machines are left broke for ridiculous amounts of time. Despite this, the staff are super polite and professional, and the people who work out here, mostly, don’t 'ang onto machines; they are on and off a machine quickly.
Nancy Cook (4/16/25, 4:24 AM):
Hey mate, it seems like there are a few issues with your gym that could use some attention from the management:

A) 4 out of 6 sinks in the gym were not working.
B) 5 out of 6 Stair Masters were out of order.
C) The showers in the women's section were missing shower heads.
D) There weren't any sanitizer or disinfectant bottles available to wipe down the equipment.
E) The rubber floor near the free weights area is tearing apart.
F) Several machines are missing the metal clips needed to attach different accessories like bars and ropes.
G) The Battle Ropes were removed recently due to their poor condition, but they have not been replaced yet.
H) The daytime staff leaves something to be desired, but the nighttime staff is professional.
I) Most importantly, the water filter is not being changed as frequently as it should be.

It would be great if management could address these issues to show they care about the customers' experience at the gym. Cheers!
Larry Cruz (4/14/25, 5:51 PM):
I've been a member for quite some time now... Back when I first joined in 2018, just before the arrival of covid, things were much better...

Presently, there seem to be few to zero Zumba classes available... Even though Zumba is fantastic and so much better with Toby... they never did provide us with a fan...

It would be splendid if the management took heed of the clients' feedback... and some adjustments were put into effect... Folks from Southern Maryland aren't as lucky to have access to the other LA Fitness location... it's quite a trek away...

A good number of the 1-3 star ratings for LA Fitness regarding classes, equipment, and the dilapidated aqua gear seem quite on point...
Christopher Stewart (4/10/25, 1:17 AM):
In general, I fancy the gym - the gear, the ample availability of equipment, the room, and the neatness. I've also made the acquaintance of some smashing faculty and staff there, along with gym-goers like Kevin. My only quibble is that L.A. Fitness, as a whole, seems to be asking its members to shell out the same monthly fee despite shortened hours and restricted gym access... I haven't been apprised of any adjustments since the onset of COVID-19 in March.
Amy Cruz (4/9/25, 6:11 PM):
The staff is absolutely dreadful and provides no assistance whatsoever. Canceling your membership is akin to solving a Rubik's Cube blindfolded - a complete nightmare. After relocating, and facing economic hardships, I find it impossible to afford both the membership fees and the gas to commute. Despite my predicament, they were utterly uncooperative. Their only suggestion was to dispatch a letter to corporate, failing to provide any inkling of when it might be resolved. A most disheartening experience with how individuals are treated at this establishment.
