Life Time Fitness in Westminster, Colorado: A Comprehensive Review

Life Time Fitness is more than just a gym; it's an experience designed for those who prioritize health and wellness. Located in Westminster, Colorado, this gym offers a wide array of amenities to cater to every fitness need, including a sauna, a swimming pool, and even child care services.

Amenities and Services Offered

One of the standout features of Life Time is its extensive service options. Members enjoy access to:

  • Multiple indoor and outdoor pools, perfect for swimming enthusiasts.
  • A spacious basketball court for those looking to shoot some hoops.
  • Clean and well-maintained shower facilities, though some reviews mention occasional cleanliness issues.
  • On-site services like personal training and nutrition counseling.
  • Online classes for those who prefer to work out from home.

Child Care and Family-Friendly Atmosphere

For parents, Life Time offers child care services, allowing you to focus on your workout while your kids are entertained. However, some reviews have raised concerns about monitoring children in shared spaces, emphasizing the need for better management in these areas.

Accessibility Features

Accessibility is another strong point at Life Time. The facility includes a wheelchair-accessible entrance and wheelchair-accessible seating, making it easier for individuals with disabilities to enjoy the gym. Additionally, there is a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring convenient access for all members.

The Atmosphere: A Mixed Bag

The atmosphere at Life Time is often described as luxurious, but experiences can vary. While many enjoy the clean and upscale environment, others report overcrowding, especially during peak hours. This has led to complaints about unused machines being held by individuals loitering in the weight area.

Cost of Membership: Worth It or Not?

With membership fees around $230 to $280 per month, many members feel that the pricing is on the higher end. Some argue that the value does not match the cost, citing a crowded gym and occasional lapses in cleanliness as reasons for their dissatisfaction. However, others believe the variety of amenities and services justifies the price.

Final Thoughts

Life Time Fitness in Westminster, Colorado, is a facility that aims to provide a comprehensive fitness experience. With amenities like a sauna, child care, online classes, and a welcoming atmosphere, it offers something for everyone. However, potential members should weigh the cost against their personal fitness needs and preferences, particularly regarding crowd levels and cleanliness.

In conclusion, Life Time Fitness presents a premium experience but may require adjustments in service management to truly live up to its reputation. Whether you're a fitness enthusiast or a casual gym-goer, it's essential to consider both the pros and cons before committing to a membership.

Our family 'as been a member of Lifetime for 7 years and I 'ave watched the quality and customer service go down 'ill. First, swim lessons for the kiddos are pricey, 'owever most instructors are friendly and qualified. The problem is that they change your kids from instructor to instructor constantly. The new instructors then 'ave to start all over on the skills - leads to a lack of skill progress for the kiddos. Lindsey, the aquatics manager, just smiles and says "thanks for letting me know" and continues to changes classes all the time. The spa/salon is just dreadful.... everyone I know (including meself) who 'as used the services felt they were over charged for subpar services. The classes are alright, sometimes crowded, but good instructors. The last few years it seems as though they are more concerned about getting a lot of people through the doors and less about the quality of services.

I do wish I could offer them no stars. The customer service was absolutely dreadful, it was my very first gym membership and I've never encountered anything like it. No one had informed me about needing to "sign a form to cancel" when I signed up. I haven't even been to the gym since November 2018 and called in December 2018 to cancel. The lady on the phone told me it wouldn't be a problem and asked why I wanted to cancel. I explained that I had moved away and couldn't afford it at the moment. She assured me she canceled my membership and that there would be no more charges. Indeed, I wasn't charged for January. However, come February, March, and April, they started deducting $60 from my account again. I contacted my bank and they confirmed these transactions weren't authorized, refunding me the money. Now I'm receiving emails from various employees in the building demanding over $198 because my bank blocked any further payments to them... despite not setting foot in the facility for nearly 9 or 10 months and not paying in that time either. And I apparently only owe $198? The math just doesn't add up for me. I've detailed my problems in emails with their so-called "specialist," Steve S., but he was of no assistance whatsoever. Steve claimed I signed a contract stipulating I could only cancel in person, but does that hold weight when their own employee confirmed over the phone that it was canceled? This outfit is extremely unprofessional, clearly in it solely for the cash. I will certainly not be parting with another penny to this establishment.

The Steam room and Lockers are absolutely filthy! And the Steam room is never cleaned properly! Sometimes, the showers and the Steam room go for days without being cleaned. It feels like nobody cares anymore. I spoke to the new GM, a woman, and she didn't seem to care or take any action. I miss Tyler, Luke, Michael, and Tom – the genuine GMs at this location. They would always fix things immediately if there was an issue. Now, Jill and Ali are the new GMs here. They actually cancelled my membership just because I complained about the disgusting state of the Steam room. This gym is way too expensive, and they will take all your money without a second thought. I recently joined Cherry Creek Athletic Club, and the price is almost the same as Lifetime, but it's incredibly clean! They really prioritize cleanliness. I love my new gym.

This establishment was an absolute nightmare when I attempted to terminate my membership. I felt demeaned, bothered, and misled. Despite the high cost of this gym compared to others, there was no effort made to replace worn-out equipment. The individuals handling membership sales were impolite, omitted information, and lacked transparency. Eventually, I opted to update my debit card details to cease any unauthorized charges following my explicit request to discontinue my membership due to dissatisfaction with their services.

The ladies at the Life Cafe are always so polite and friendly, never had an issue with them. However, there was this chap today who seemed like a rather disgruntled employee. He appeared annoyed to take my order and when he returned my card, he practically threw it on the counter at me. And then, when my drink was ready, he did the same with my straw. I know it may seem a bit trivial to complain about, but it just left me thinking, what on earth was his issue? Besides that, Life Cafe is fantastic.
Donna Phillips (4/14/25, 9:07 AM):
It's a jolly good gym, I must say. However, there seems to be a spot of bother with folks having their items or vehicles pinched right from the parking lot. The gym seems rather tight-lipped about installing any cameras to help keep an eye out. And to top it off, the manager never bothered to give me a bell about it. Quite the disappointment, really. To add insult to injury, my membership fee went up the next month just because I was celebrating turning 27. Oh, bother!
Angela Rodriguez (4/13/25, 7:53 AM):
Great facilities and layout, but it's constantly busy. There are always groups of people in their early 20s chatting instead of working out, which leads to overcrowding. Sometimes there are even kids running around. The gym is quite pricey, over $240 a month for two people, so I expect a higher quality experience.

For instance, right now there are five people chatting around one machine while another person is on a conference call leaning against an EZ bar.

Update: Some individuals are leaving their belongings on machines to reserve them while they go off to do other things. Do the staff ever check the weight floor?

There's a six-year-old on the weight floor with their father. This isn't acceptable or safe.
