The staff 'ave been top-notch and the access to the pool and gym equipment 'as been greatly appreciated. Cheers!
I've had a splendid time at One Life Fitness North. The gear is spotless and well-maintained. The folks at the front desk are ever so friendly and welcoming. The changing rooms are always tidy and the sauna is just delightful! Sometimes during peak hours, I've had to wait for a machine or tweak my workout, but it's not a bother most days. In sum, I wholeheartedly endorse this gym.
Ah, the gym offers a wide array of equipment, including various machines for different muscle groups, dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, squat racks, bench presses, and functional gear. They also have an abundance of cardio equipment like treadmills, bikes, stairmasters, and ellipticals. It seems they are also in the process of creating a lovely recovery zone.
The staff is amiable, there are plenty of training options and classes available, and the place is kept rather tidy.
Nonetheless, it's always bustling, even if you go at the crack of dawn. It can be quite irksome when almost every piece of equipment is already in use when you're trying to get your workout done.
The whole team, particularly Aaron at North Frederick, is always so welcoming to my daughter and me. He goes above and beyond to make us feel at home in the Gym!
I signed up for Onelife in January 2022. I decided on Onelife because of its pool and pristine, up-to-date amenities. Training with personal trainer Claire Liscinsky has been fantastic! She keeps me motivated and has taught me the proper strength exercises and stretching techniques. Under her direction and workout plans, I've seen major improvements!
I cannot express how amazing my time at OneLife has been. The staff at the front desk are always so welcoming and polite.
From day one, Tim guided me through all the facilities and connected me with the most suitable personal trainer.
Karen is without a doubt the best personal trainer I have ever had. She took the time to grasp my fitness objectives, evaluate my capabilities, and develop a personalized workout routine that challenged me to new heights while maintaining safety and enjoyment. Thanks to Karen's exceptional support, I have witnessed remarkable improvements in both my strength and endurance.
Top-notch gym. They're really putting in the effort to stay ahead of the game. Managing a gym is no easy feat, especially with all the upgrades they're making. I definitely suggest giving them a try.
I've been coaching gymnastics for 38 years, so I know what it takes to stay in top shape. I've been able to motivate both kids and adults throughout my career, but after retiring from the sport, I found it hard to find the motivation to focus on my own fitness. That's when I decided to join a small group training program with a trainer named Joe Parise. Joe is incredibly friendly and has a knack for inspiring me to push myself harder.
His expertise and experience are evident in every session, and even though we're working in a small group setting with other adults, Joe always manages to tailor the workouts to suit each individual's needs. After a year of training with Joe, I've noticed significant improvements in my strength and endurance levels.
I've been training with Paul Hood (a personal trainer at OneLife) for a year now. He is absolutely fantastic and an all-round great guy. Paul created a customized program based on my needs and abilities to help me reach my fitness goals. I can't believe how much stronger I've become in just one year. Paul offers the perfect mix of motivation and guidance during our sessions. He is highly professional, knowledgeable, and committed to his clients. Choosing to work with a personal trainer like Paul has been a worthwhile investment. Outstanding trainer!
One Life North - Friendly staff, attentive to cater to both us beginners and more experienced athletes to improve our health and fitness. Mike - in charge of memberships will assist you with fees and explore potential discounts available through certain employers. Josh - as the General Manager, steers the ship effectively, employs quality staff, and is always seeking ways to enhance the gym. The equipment is top-notch, well-maintained, and the gym is kept clean! During peak hours it can get a bit crowded but not unbearably slow. They offer a wide range of classes including spinning, yoga, and intense workouts. The trainers are highly skilled. I've trained with Tommi and Klay - they listen attentively, tailor a program to meet your goals, and excel in their expertise. I highly recommend One Life - and with a membership, you can access OL-South, Hagerstown, and the brand-new facility in Martinsburg.
I spent a fantastic couple of weeks enjoying the pool during our visit to see family in Frederick. I absolutely adored the saltwater pool, the gorgeous amenities, and the welcoming staff. Can't wait to come back next time we're in town for the Holidays. ♥️
My lad, Kevin, plays AA travel ice hockey. At the end of the last season, he asked us if we could find a trainer for him to work with during the summer. He wanted to get stronger and quicker on the ice. I inquired within the hockey circle for recommendations and kept hearing about one fellow, Tre Holsey. I got in touch with Tre, and Kevin has been training with him ever since. They've been focusing on EP (Explosive Performance) training. Kevin's strength, agility, speed, and overall stamina have greatly improved! He eagerly anticipates each workout despite emerging completely worn out. One of his preferred exercises is box jumps; he started at 30 inches and three months later he's jumping at 42 inches. Tre always provides a thorough explanation of their daily regimen. Tre has tailored Kevin's workouts to effectively develop the muscles he needs for top-notch performance in skating and hockey. Additionally, Tre has stressed the significance of proper nutrition, leading Kevin to make healthier dietary choices. This past weekend, Kevin reaped the rewards of his hard work over the summer at his first tournament. He felt quicker, his shots were harder, and he had the endurance to skate at full throttle throughout the game and even into double overtime. We are truly thankful for Tre; he is genuinely a fantastic role model, mentor, extraordinary individual, and exceptional trainer. You won't find a better person to train with!
Big shoutout to my trainer Darby! She is absolutely brilliant at what she does. She took the time to understand my goals and helped me achieve them. Thanks to her expertise and encouragement, I managed to shed some pounds. Darby is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also very approachable and supportive.
I’m a newbie when it comes to hitting the gym, but I’m thrilled I took the plunge and gave personal training a go. Taylor has been an absolute gem of a trainer. She’s got a wealth of knowledge, heaps of patience, and knows just how to keep me motivated. It’s been a game-changer for me. The gym is constantly spotless, and it feels like a comfortable environment. The staff are all so friendly! And let’s not forget about the pool – what a lovely extra touch, especially during these chilly winter months.
This exercise facility is top-notch. My partner and I have been loyal members since it first opened as Sport&Health. The standout feature of this gym is undoubtedly the staff - they are incredibly friendly and always ready to lend a helping hand. The workout area is pristine, well-ventilated, and neatly organized; the equipment is well-maintained. The locker room is also impressive, with ideal temperatures and consistently stocked with soaps, paper towels, and plastic bags for damp towels and swimsuits. The showers are modern and easily adjustable to your preferred temperature, which remains constant throughout your shower.
However, it is truly the STAFF that elevates the experience of this gym and pool.
Earlier today, I had a meeting out in Frederick and decided to squeeze in a workout beforehand. One Life North Frederick happened to be the nearest gym, so I popped in. As I went up to the front desk to check-in, the receptionist was friendly. I mentioned my reason for being in Frederick and asked if I needed to pay for a day pass. After looking me up in their system, the receptionist informed me that I was already covered as a member and could go ahead.
I headed to the locker room to freshen up, and as I was getting ready, a white male approached me in a rather agitated manner, accusing me of trying to dodge paying for a day pass. Turns out, this person was the General Manager of the gym, Josh Jacobson. I explained that I had asked about the day pass at check-in and was told I didn't need to pay. His response was brusque, stating they have strict policies and reprimanding his employee. I mentioned that this had happened on previous visits and I was always given the green light after checking in. He became more irritated and demanded that I come to the front desk and pay the fee.
I obliged, but not without expressing my dismay at his behavior towards a guest in the middle of using the facilities. I requested his information, to which he smugly said he'd provide it at the desk. While we walked over, he muttered something about me that I couldn't quite catch, but he did hand me his card. When I inquired about his supervisor, Bree Wilson, he was dismissive and insinuated that I should already have her details. Upon pushing for her contact information, he refused and suggested I email him for it.
If you're in search of a gym with a pleasant atmosphere and professional staff, I suggest looking into CRUNCH FITNESS, which will be opening a new location in Frederick off the dual highway in late February. Based on my experience, I believe it will offer a healthier environment and better overall experience.
