Crunch Fitness - Palmdale: An Insightful Review

Located in Palmdale, California, Crunch Fitness offers a variety of services aimed at providing an enjoyable fitness experience. However, reviews suggest that potential members may want to consider various factors before committing.

Outdoor Services and Amenities

The gym features outdoor services, including a basketball court, which many members appreciate for their workouts. Unfortunately, the outdoor area has faced criticism for being unclean, suggesting a need for better maintenance.

Accessibility Features

Crunch Fitness provides a wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park, making the facility accessible for all guests. However, accessibility can only go so far if customer service does not meet expectations.

Service Options and On-Site Services

While Crunch Fitness offers various service options, including on-site training, user experiences indicate that transparency regarding membership terms is often lacking. Numerous complaints mention misleading membership agreements, with customers feeling trapped by contracts they did not fully understand.

Atmosphere and Community Feel

The atmosphere at Crunch Fitness has been described as friendly and inviting, conducive to working out. Many long-term members refer to it as a community. However, recent reviews suggest that the overcrowded environment detracts from this ambiance.

Amenities: Showers and Sauna

Despite having facilities such as showers and a sauna, the condition of these amenities has raised concern among members. Reports indicate that showers sometimes lack hot water, and the sauna is frequently non-operational, diminishing the overall experience.

Membership Requirements and Customer Service

Membership is required to access facilities at Crunch Fitness. However, customers have reported frustrating experiences when trying to cancel memberships, claiming that customer service is unresponsive or unhelpful. Many former members recommend avoiding the gym due to predatory practices surrounding membership commitments and cancellation processes.

Final Thoughts

While Crunch Fitness in Palmdale boasts several amenities and a friendly atmosphere, potential members should weigh the feedback from current and past users. Access to outdoor services, a wheelchair-accessible environment, and a community feeling are positives, but issues related to transparency, cleanliness, and poor customer service cannot be overlooked. Ultimately, it may be worthwhile to explore other local gym options based on personal needs and expectations.

I took a break from hitting the gym, mate. Decided to give it another go and was gutted, I tell ya. Loads of machines have disappeared and the ones left are knackered or missing bits. Definitely gonna cancel my membership and find a new gym, no doubt about it.

I gave them a ring a week before my payment was due to wrap up my membership and got told I had to show up in person to make it happen. I'm on the grind for 10 hours, 5 days a week, and the other 2, I have a bit of a life going on. A couple of days later, I was trying to get in touch with the big bosses to cancel, but ended up dialing the wrong branch. They dished out an email for cancellation, and that's when it clicked - I had the wrong digits initially, and the first person I chatted to, for some reason, held back this vital nugget of info. So I phoned my gym again, and got given the wrong email... Called back a few hours later to get the right one... and the person I spoke to mentioned he had no clue 'cause he only works the graveyard shift... Dialed again the following day and finally snagged the correct email, however, I was notified I'd still be docked 'cause my payment was due the next day. I spilled the beans about my whole ordeal and how I tried to cancel a week ago. She said she flagged it to management and they'd shoot me an email pronto. Radio silence until the next day and they dropped the bomb that my payment was looming and they couldn't cut me loose until it's in the bank... Steer clear of this establishment. I had Crunch in the past and forgot why I bailed on them in the first place... Hit up 24 Hour Fitness, they actually let you cancel online and don't shackle you down.

Update on 04/04: I reached out to the email they handed over but never caught wind back from them. Their response was merely to string me along, all to keep my negative feedback from scaring off newbies. Avoid this gym at all costs.
Denise Young (5/5/25, 6:57 PM):
I had a rather distressing experience today at the kids' club. The staff there were quite impolite and disrespectful. It appears I became the subject of their gossip, as one of the workers was overheard making negative remarks about me in front of my daughters. She even went as far as to threaten to kick me and my children out next time. Rather than focusing on supervising the children, they seemed more interested in speaking ill of me.

As a paying customer who enrolls my daughters in the kids' club while I workout, I was understandably upset. I repeatedly requested to speak with a manager, but my pleas fell on deaf ears. It was only after I personally sought out a manager that I discovered the individual I was speaking to happened to be the boyfriend of one of the workers. Despite relaying my concerns to him, he showed little regard for the situation.

To add to my frustration, I was not informed at the time of registration that the kids' club could reach full capacity, preventing me from leaving my children there. This lack of transparency led to a very disappointing experience. I asked for a refund, but my request was ignored.

Overall, I left feeling dissatisfied with the service provided by the kids' club and the handling of this incident.
Andrew Campbell (5/3/25, 6:53 PM):
Watch out for the SAUNA, it hardly ever seems to work. And the staff can be a bit brusque or impolite when informing you about it. Perhaps 24 Hour Fitness could be a preferable option.
Emily Johnson (5/1/25, 3:31 AM):
The gym has definitely seen better days, not quite sure what happened while I was away lol. The outside area, in particular, could use some sprucing up. It seems like the weights could be better organized and picked up, a responsibility that both the staff and customers should share. I miss the warm greetings and goodbyes I received at another Crunch location I visited. Too many people seem to be chatting away instead of actually using the equipment. Personally, when I go around 9 pm on weekdays, or even 7 pm, it's a complete madhouse until around 11:30 pm with long waits for machines and equipment.
Betty Fisher (4/29/25, 9:09 PM):
I typically don't write reviews, but I must say that this gym is absolutely dreadful! The receptionist, Aileann or whatever her name may be, provides the most abysmal customer service I've encountered in quite a while. She's incredibly rude and obnoxious, and seems to give attitude for no discernible reason. It's high time Crunch dissociates their name from the individuals in charge of this establishment. Moreover, it's worth noting that the staff never seem to wear masks. My advice would be to steer clear of this place - if possible, I'd assign them zero stars.
Carl Reyes (4/28/25, 7:32 PM):
I really enjoy the Gym as they offer a wide variety of machines and free weights. Additionally, they have an abundance of cardio equipment and fitness classes available. The staff is incredibly helpful and welcoming. One thing I particularly appreciate is their 24-hour availability from Monday to Thursday, although they do close early on Fridays through Sundays.
Wayne Jordan (4/27/25, 4:08 PM):
I must say, this gym was absolutely splendid! With two floors, there's plenty of space to move around without feeling squished. The gentleman at the front desk was a real lifesaver, allowing us to redeem our complimentary gym pass even though we initially selected the incorrect location. I truly appreciated the seamless and hassle-free experience of working out at this gym. Big thanks to Palmdale for the fantastic service!
Gerald Phillips (4/27/25, 1:47 AM):
Upon initial impression, the gym appears pleasant, however, upon commencing one's workout, it becomes apparent that equipment organization is lacking and complete sets of free weights are difficult to locate. The adherence to gym etiquette is notably deficient, as weights are often not returned to their proper places. Furthermore, the facility tends to be consistently overcrowded. Certain machines are needlessly cumbersome, leading to a potential loss of focus due to their excess play and movement. In my opinion, investing a bit more for a higher quality gym experience is worthwhile.
