This gym is quite petite and always packed to the brim. Finding a parking spot is a real challenge, as folks tend to park haphazardly due to the limited space. The overcrowding makes it nearly impossible to access the equipment, making for a frustrating workout experience. And yes, I must emphasize once more, the abundance of patrons in such a confined gym space is simply too much. Not my cup of tea, I must say.

They were in such a hurry to get this place up and running, and it's really starting to show. There is a decent amount of weight equipment, but a lot of it is either broken or missing pieces. The kettlebells they have are old and covered in rust, and some of the weight bars are rusty as well. The selection of cable attachments is extremely limited. Plus, they seem to prioritize the personal training area over everything else. It feels like they don't care about the quality, which is a shame. They just opened recently and already some of the lights on the building aren't working.
Victoria Kim (6/3/25, 4:42 AM):
Sean truly embodies the spirit of LA Fitness as a top-notch representative. Initially, I was only planning to observe and take in the surroundings. However, after meeting Sean and experiencing his enthusiasm, I am convinced that investing in my fitness journey here will be incredibly valuable. Much gratitude to Sean for the enlightening tour!

Jeffrey Murphy (6/1/25, 10:21 AM):
I have endeavored to optimize my experience at this gym, but alas, it has proven to be futile. The gym consistently overflows with patrons, and the free weights are perpetually inaccessible and haphazardly arranged. The steam room has been inoperable for an extended period, and management has indicated a lack of intent to rectify any issues should the sauna also malfunction. The intensity of the jacuzzi and pool water causes discomfort to my eyes, and the quality of the swim classes is subpar.
Despite making efforts to overlook these shortcomings and focus on utilizing the treadmill, today's incident was the final catalyst for my decision. I hurried over post-work for the 5:45 pm Zumba class, a session that was duly listed on both the app and physical calendar, only to discover it had been canceled. The facility's disarray and apathy are simply intolerable. Consequently, I have made the decision to terminate my membership, as this establishment does not merit my patronage anymore.
Eugene Perez (6/1/25, 5:56 AM):
This brand new gym is absolutely fantastic, I must say. They kindly provide a complimentary 3-day guest pass, but I am seriously considering becoming a member because the space is simply enormous and filled with various rooms and state-of-the-art equipment. Plus, there's a free parking lot available. The staff members are remarkably well-organized and super friendly.
Jeffrey Foster (5/30/25, 2:57 AM):
This establishment is generally well-maintained, particularly the women's restroom which is usually in good condition unless it's crowded. They consistently supply cleaning wipes and offer a wide variety of cardio equipment. However, my primary focus is weightlifting, and that's where the issues arise. Regardless of the time I visit, there is always a queue for the squat rack and weight machines. This can be attributed to instances where individuals fail to return equipment or neglect to put back the J-cups/holders. Additionally, it seems that the 45-pound plates are frequently left on the barbells. It becomes quite bothersome to constantly tidy up after others. Occasionally, you may come across chewed gum stuck in random places like the window sill or the corner of the squat rack. There is also a tendency for weights to be scattered around and dumbbells to be missing. I am eagerly anticipating the opening of a superior gym in this vicinity.
Amelia Bailey (5/28/25, 5:28 PM):
The only positive aspect of this gym is its accessibility. However, my experience at this particular gym location has been less than satisfactory and I doubt I will be returning. The issues I encountered include blocked men's toilets (why guys, seriously?), patrons not properly re-racking barbells, inconvenient placement of weights, and the lack of air conditioning despite the hot weather outside. I found it unbearable to work out and lift weights in such conditions. Sadly, I had to cut my arm day workout short by one set due to the uncomfortable heat inside the building.

I shall never moan about my gym in Charlotte again, haha! Everything was spotless apart from the sauna. I could not linger in that cramped spot for more than 2 minutes. Normally, I can easily relax for 20 minutes in there. The gear is outdated, particularly the treadmills. It's in dire need of a serious overhaul.
Mia Perez (5/23/25, 3:06 PM):
I really enjoy the double floors at this gym. It creates a sense of openness and roominess. Additionally, the spin classes are absolutely fantastic!
Arthur Hamilton (5/21/25, 4:55 PM):
Fantastic local gym chain with knowledgeable trainers who are adept at assisting individuals in achieving their fitness objectives while also enjoying themselves. The facilities are spotless, complete with sufficient restroom facilities, water dispensers, and ample space to complete your desired workout. The welcoming front desk staff typically greet you upon arrival and bid you farewell as you depart, adding to the overall positive experience.
Aaron Taylor (5/18/25, 7:24 PM):
I find the locker room a bit dim, and the shower, especially the one with the seat, is quite tight with no proper hanging space for clothes.
Kathleen Wilson (5/18/25, 6:39 AM):
Sean made the whole process a breeze! He handled cancelling my previous membership and setting up a new one with such ease. His friendly and pleasant attitude really stood out.
Alice Brown (5/15/25, 3:35 PM):
The customer service is top-notch, absolutely smashing. But blimey, the gear is a bit long in the tooth, innit? They've brought in some new bits and bobs, but a fair few are already on the blink. The tellys are often on the fritz, mate, or sometimes you'll find them tuned into the Disney Channel, of all things. The gym gets a good scrubbing now and then, which is spot on. But there are weights scattered about like nobody's business, right messy it is.
Emily Hill (5/12/25, 3:14 AM):
I recently had the pleasure of interacting with the outstanding customer service at the gym. Sean really stood out as a top-notch professional who goes above and beyond to prepare you for your fitness journey. Highly recommend!
Riley Ross (5/11/25, 1:33 PM):
A chum recently invited me to join 'er in a workout at this spot on 9450 Ruby Lockhardt Blvd, as I 'ad just made a move 'ere. When we went to sign in, there was a bit o' hold-up, so I kindly stepped off to the side of the front desk. Whilst awaiting, I overheard a lass chattin' with a colleague about another member's personal situation. As she went on, I realized it were actually a legal matter unrelated to the gym or LA Fitness. I decided to ask the chap behind the front desk for a manager and pointed out the woman I wished to report. The employee just hung his head and mumbled, "That's the manager, that's Katie." I was utterly surprised to discover that a manager would discuss a member's personal/legal situation. I told the employee I found it rather impolite of her to gossip like that, and he said she gossips about everything she hears. I reiterated that I found it rude and unprofessional, to which he explained she behaves rudely and unprofessionally towards guests and members, causing them to leave. I inquired why she's still in management, and he responded that no one complains because this location is seen as the "Hood." I expressed that her being an LA Fitness employee and especially a manager puts the company at risk of a lawsuit. Well, I promptly asked my mate if we could depart, as I concluded this wasn't a place where I'd want a membership with such management getting away with such behavior. After we left, I asked my friend to find out who the member was, as I believed they had a right to know what was happening. I suggested they should consult with a lawyer and have the solicitor contact LA Fitness corporate, as this seems like grounds for a lawsuit, and the member concerned ought to pursue it accordingly. I truly hope someone can address this issue before more members start leaving. As for me, I won't be returning 'ere.
Thomas Anderson (5/10/25, 1:52 PM):
Sean, GM at the gym, really made the signup process a breeze. He's very friendly and took the time to chat with members while giving a tour. I ended up enrolling in personal training too, and Yolanda really knows her stuff when it comes to understanding member's needs and fitness objectives. The gym is spotless, equipped with plenty of cardio machines to avoid waiting times, as well as locker rooms with showers and a pool/sauna section. I also liked the lady at the front desk who warmly welcomed me upon arrival, leaving a fantastic first impression for LA Fitness.
Ann White (5/10/25, 3:37 AM):
They indeed promote the turf area with TRX ropes, yet it always seems to be occupied! They claim the turf area is accessible when there's no personal training, but it appears there's constantly some "training" happening. This situation forces you to squeeze into a tiny space UPSTAIRS behind the stair masters to carry out a machine-free workout. Moreover, you need to lug weights from the lower floor to the upper floor to finish your routine. It's truly not up to par.
Philip Perez (5/9/25, 11:55 PM):
I visited the gym with a 3-day pass specifically to enjoy the hot tub. Naturally, they attempted to sell me a membership, but I informed them I would make a decision on the third day. To my disappointment, there were children in the designated adult area, with kids even dipping their feet into the hot tub. It was just too much for me. As I got out to change, I could hear a woman talking to her son in the adjacent stall. After dressing, I approached the front desk to question why children were allowed in that area. The staff member mentioned that the minimum age allowed was 14, yet these were much younger children. I suppose he went to check it out himself. Ultimately, I decided to leave.

At LA Fitness, you can enjoy a comprehensive fitness experience that covers all the bases. From strengthening your muscles with free weights and machines to rejuvenating your body in the jacuzzi and sauna, there's something for everyone. Stay active with cardio classes and take a dip in the heated pool. And let's not forget about the indoor, NBA-style basketball courts – a unique offering you won't find anywhere else!
Logan Allen (5/7/25, 8:27 AM):
I am thrilled to kick off my fitness journey with LA Fitness, Lanham. This gym is spotless and has top-notch equipment. There are a variety of group fitness classes to keep you motivated and inspired. Right now, my favorite class is the spin class with Terry.
In addition to that, they offer multiple amenities such as the kids klub, indoor pool, basketball court, indoor cycling, personal trainers, sauna, steam room, and a hot tub. Also, the membership includes 2 complimentary guest passes, which I find absolutely fantastic!
The staff is respectful and the ambiance is delightful. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, and there is convenient parking for individuals with disabilities. They also have well-maintained restroom facilities. Cheers to a positive gym experience!
