SBG Idaho is a fantastic, tidy, and inviting gym that offers something for everyone. I've attended camps there and always had a great time.
Judith King (6/6/25, 4:09 PM):
My whole bloomin' family can't thank the entire team at Combat Fitness enough. From respondin' to our emails before we even showed up, to greetin' us at the gym, to the top-notch trainin' our kids get every single day, Combat never failed to blow our socks off. It's been downright amazin' to see how much our kids have bloomin' grown and improved as fighters and professionals, and that's all thanks to the hard work and sweat of the amazing staff and trainers. As folks who've trained at the absolute top gyms in Japan and Thailand, I can say with confidence that Combat Fitness is a world-class outfit that will no doubt churn out future champions.
Victoria James (6/5/25, 8:33 PM):
Combat Fitness is the perfect spot for MMA enthusiasts, as their coaches are active and successful professional MMA fighters. However, it is also a fantastic gym for individuals looking to improve their physical fitness or learn combat sports for enjoyment, health, or self-defense purposes. Contrary to common assumptions about gyms led by MMA practitioners, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Nevertheless, don't be fooled, the training can be as challenging as you desire or require. Following my experience of participating in a few classes during the complimentary week provided to new members, I was delighted to discover that Combat Fitness suits me perfectly. Consequently, I now make it a priority to train there as frequently as possible.
Ann Gutierrez (6/4/25, 1:46 PM):
I've been frequenting various combat and fighting gyms for around 20 years, and let me tell ya, this one is a real gem! It's a fantastic gym for families; both of my boys, aged 9 and 6, have attended classes here and truly enjoyed themselves. With multiple class times and a variety of instructors, each with their own unique teaching style, there's something for everyone. The atmosphere is simply incredible - folks here are all about supporting one another, leaving their egos at the door (unlike some other gyms I've been to, ugh). I highly recommend giving their classes a go - no need to delay! Remember, life's too short - just do it!

I've 'ad the pleasure of knowin' Jesse for o'er 8 years as 'is chiropractor, and 'ave gotten to know 'is character. 'E is the most down to earth and genuine bloke you will meet. Been trainin' with 'im now for o'er 6 months and nothin' but great things to say about 'is coachin', the facility, and the rest of the people who work and train there.
Martha Turner (6/2/25, 9:33 AM):
I've been training at SBG for about 6 months now, focusing on the jiu jitsu classes. The coaches here are incredibly supportive and welcoming. I find that all my queries are not only addressed but thoroughly explained. Top-notch gym, no doubt.
Susan Wright (5/31/25, 8:57 AM):
I was quite eager to check out this establishment, so I filled in my details to schedule a tour and consultation. Shortly after, I got a call to arrange the consultation, and let me tell you, it turned out to be one of the most peculiar customer service calls I've ever experienced. They flat-out refused to disclose whether they offered early morning classes or provide me with a price range. Even after clarifying that I understood there would be a sales pitch and simply wanted to know about the timing options, things took a turn for the worse. What began as a straightforward inquiry quickly devolved into one of the most impolite customer interactions I’ve encountered. Looks like they aren’t too keen on taking on any new members.
Janice Rivera (5/30/25, 2:24 PM):
When I travel, instead of simply hitting the hotel gym with its row of treadmills and stationary bikes, I prefer popping into local MMA gyms for a drop-in class. During my week in Boise, I managed to squeeze in two Muay Thai sessions at Combat Fitness. Let me tell you, folks in Boise are blessed to have such a top-notch facility boasting skilled instructors. The staff were on the ball, maintaining a high level of professionalism, and keeping the place spick and span. Thumbs up all the way!
Charlotte Stewart (5/30/25, 8:45 AM):
As a fledgling student in the art of Muay Thai and boxing, I must say the ambience is absolutely splendid and inviting. The training sessions last for an hour each and are structured as follows: dynamic warmups at the start (about 6 minutes), then a brief overview of the key concepts to be covered that day (around 10 minutes), followed by the majority of the class dedicated to practicing under the watchful eye of the coaches, who provide guidance and corrections.

The atmosphere just exudes happiness, from the cheery coaches to the enthusiastic students and friendly staff. The facility is impeccably clean as well. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.
Sophia Green (5/29/25, 8:29 PM):
Combat Fitness is the place to train in Boise, ID.

I've trained here for a summer in '08 and from the fall of '12 until now. Combat Fitness is brimming with fantastic coaches and individuals. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming to practitioners of all skill levels, creating a warm and inviting setting. My focus is mainly on BJJ (blue belt), and I am always being pushed and gaining knowledge from my fellow gym members. This establishment is truly remarkable, and anyone keen on BJJ, MMA, or fitness should certainly pay a visit.
Sarah Scott (5/27/25, 6:53 AM):
Lovely staff, top-notch facility. Situated right in the heart of downtown with midday classes perfect for squeezing in a lunchtime sweat session. Wonderful atmosphere. Can't wait to track my fitness journey and see how I improve through the training.
Donald Davis (5/26/25, 12:03 PM):
I absolutely adore the community here at the Martial Arts school and have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge! The folks are so friendly and willing to lend a hand, I've definitely seen an improvement in my strength, and the facilities are top-notch!
Roger Murphy (5/24/25, 11:41 PM):
My chums and I are proper impressed with this establishment. We checked out a few other places before settling on this one. The instructors are top-notch and ever so helpful during classes. If we had any difficulty, they were right there to lend a hand and clarify any new techniques. We're eager to witness the progress from the training we're getting. Even though we've only attended a couple of sessions, we can already see improvements and are looking forward to continuing our fitness and boxing routines.
John Peterson (5/24/25, 6:37 PM):
When talking about a combat gym, the key thing is the vibe and atmosphere. At SBG, it's not just about pushing yourself to the limit—it's about education, progress, and showing respect to one another. The standout feature at SBG is its amazing atmosphere. It's a gym that not only encourages skill development but also builds a tight-knit, family-like environment. Everyone truly feels like part of the tribe, and while it might seem like a cliché, "one tribe, one vibe" is something we all believe in. Whether you're looking to compete or just want to learn self-defense, SBG provides everything you need, with a friendly and supportive community by your side.
Frank Gutierrez (5/24/25, 5:15 PM):
I recently joined Combat last week, and had my consultation with Jesse. I wanted to share my thoughts on the consultation process as I haven't started the Foundations program yet due to being out of town and then falling ill this week.

After reading a review by someone named Drew, who seems to be dealing with similar weight issues like me, I felt compelled to also share my experience meeting with Jesse.

To provide full transparency when reviewing businesses that are essential to people's livelihoods, I want to mention that I signed up for the program last week and have already started making payments. Standing at 6'6" and weighing about 375lbs, I used to be quite athletic, but my current weight paints a different picture.

Over the past decade, I've spent money on standard gym memberships that I rarely utilized, prompting me to seek out a different approach to getting in shape. After researching all the "MMA Style" gyms within a 40-mile radius of my home in Boise, Combat Fitness stood out as the best choice without a doubt. I recommend everyone to do their own research and make an informed decision, as it was clear for me to choose Combat Fitness.

Combat is not your average gym, which explains its high ratings. If you're looking for a salesperson who will say anything to get you to sign up, you won't find that here. The team at Combat, including Jesse, treat you like family and genuinely want you to succeed in reaching your goals. Additionally, the affordability of the program was a significant factor for me as a lower-middle-class man with a family.

Despite being classified as morbidly obese, I never felt out of place or judged at Combat. In fact, it was the opposite; I was made to feel comfortable and encouraged by Jesse to join. Weight and fitness levels only came up when I brought them up myself, and it was never a negative factor.

I'm set to start the foundations program this Friday, although I am a bit nervous due to my lack of athleticism. Nonetheless, I am excited to get back in shape after so long and learn how to defend myself and my family if the need ever arises. I trust that I am in good hands at Combat Fitness.

A place that feels like a second home - SBG radiates a friendly and inviting atmosphere that fosters learning, training, and building connections. The instructors are committed experts who motivate and support both physical and mental wellness. Should you stay long enough, you might even find yourself sparring with pro MMA fighters, an experience that truly deepens one's respect for their craft in the octagon.

Every coach at SBG is a standout in their own right - each brings something special to the table. If you're interested in exploring BJJ, boxing, muay thai, or MMA, this place is definitely worth checking out.
Kathleen Ortiz (5/23/25, 2:29 PM):
My daughter has been attending SBG for 7 months and she absolutely adores it. The coaches are incredibly skilled and the program is ideal for younger children. The coaches are actively participating on the mats, demonstrating the correct techniques to enhance the children's skills. The "Life skills" homework that the kids receive, in my opinion, helps them develop into better individuals both inside and outside of the gym. I highly recommend this place if you're seeking top-notch expertise.
Tyler Cruz (5/23/25, 6:40 AM):
This place is fantastic for honing your martial arts skills, improving your fitness, and reaching your goals. SBG offers a wide range of disciplines including BJJ, Muay Thai, Fight Fit, Boxing, Judo, and even a Cardio Bag Class. It's definitely a welcoming environment for families, with an excellent kids program. One of the things I love most about this gym is their "Foundation" classes designed specifically for beginners, so you don't have to worry about getting thrown in at the deep end with experienced fighters. Combine that with some Strength and Conditioning classes, and you'll have a great time building your strength and becoming the martial artist you aspire to be. The coaches here are incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated, with a wealth of experience. They are passionate about their art and committed to helping students grow into the best version of themselves.
Ella Flores (5/21/25, 6:35 PM):
It's a proper top-notch establishment, mate. No gym is flawless (they could sort out the hot water situation), but the offerings are top quality, and the variety is truly exceptional compared to other gyms. The BJJ program boasts a cracking team of talented coaches. Jake, Paul, Ryan, and especially Stephanie will forever hold a special spot in my memories.

There's a fantastic community at SBG, and I feel blessed to have soaked up that atmosphere during the 22 months I spent training there.

If you're reading this review, it's worth your while to pop by and give it a whirl, ain't it? Cheers!
Stephen Walker (5/21/25, 3:47 PM):
Upon my initial visit, it was evident that the staff possessed a wealth of expertise in their respective fields. Brad, the jiu-jitsu coach, welcomed me warmly and conducted a brief yet enjoyable training session for my daughter and me. The coaches exhibit great patience with their students. I am eagerly looking forward to progressing further in my training.
